1299 New Ducati 1299s Anniversario

  1. It is gorgeous. Too gorgeous to take out on our crappy roads :(

  2. I did put a deposit down yesterday and I await to see the outcome. I was told that 40 are coming to the UK and those have all now been allocated. However, the dealer said if I wasn't on the list he's convinced he can get one as the allocations for other European countries won't be sold.

Oh, I have it on good authority (really a perfect person) that there's a Desmo coming out - probably at EICMA - they'll be making 1,000 at a cost of c£45k.

  3. Sh*t , a Desmo! That would be hard to resist if I was feeling super rich.

As Sammytt mentions personally I'd definitely choose this over an R for a road bike. The R is phenomenal and worth the price just for the engine but I think the 1299 electronic suspension gives the bike that bit of practicality that you don't get with hardcore race bikes like the R. I was so tempted to get rid of the BMW for one of these, just couldn't stomach the money loss again. Still tempted though :) .....

  4. Personally, as amazing as the R is, I think the Anniversario is a stunning machine and very practical. As you say, the electronic suspension is really useful and I think this bike will definitely be a future classic.

I'll be very disappointed if my order doesn't go through. Although I'm not a bike collector as I ride all of my bikes, it would be nice to add to the stable, which includes:

    1098S Tricolore
    1198S Corse Limited Edition
    1098R Bayliss
    Panigale Tricolore
    Panigale Superleggera

Plus, it'll be the last of the Euro 3 complient machines and I love the under slung exhausts.

Fingers crossed for all who've pledged their hard earned cash.

  10. Thanks guys. I rode my first Ducati in 2008 and bought a standard 1098S. Since then most of my retirement funds have been sent to Bologna. I'm thinking of setting up a direct debit and transferring my wages straight to them.

I live in the Middle East and have my Panigale Tricolore (and a KTM 500EXC Six Days) with me. The rest I ride when I return to the UK. However, we've bought a house in Umbria where the roads are awesome so my collection will go there next year ! Once they are all together, I'll take a group photo and post it here.

The bikes are like my children, I love them all for different reasons.

  11. If the new Desmo hasn't got at least one cup holder then I'm out!
BMW Kers 1000RR needs something to chase next year anyway.

  12. Was at JHP this morning whilst my bike had its 600 mile service. They could have sold 2 more in the hour i was in the showroom.

I reckon they could have sold all 35 UK-bound bikes by the time they arrive.

  14. I bagged mine from JHP, Dave had no end of orders on Monday morning, great service from the guys at Cov.

  15. I know he is hoping (praying?) for more than one bike. I reckon they could have sold double figures easily if they were able to get hold of them.

  16. I think most dealers have way more deposits than bikes allocated unfortunately. However, if America don't like it and the rest get here then fair play.

The other notion is that if they sell all 500 and have deposits worldwide for 1000 surely they'll just make more??

Mine could be 21/500(Production Run B)

  17. I procrastinated for too long (well that and work commitments and already having two Panigale's) meant I didn't get my deposit in until Tuesday morning. It'll be a long two week wait to see if I've got one.

  18. Latest:
    35 bikes allocated to UK.
Deffo 1 per dealer ( 32 dealers), apparently each dealer sold at least 1 . The rest is down to Ducati uk , apparently they been given list of names with deposits down and they will decide on who will get one on top of the 32 automatically allocated ones.
My dealer sold 4. I am number 2.
Chances are low as I paid my deposit on Monday afternoon.
