Swiss Speeding Letter

  1. Bollo*ks to them go to Italy, France & Austria instead

  2. Get glidofglod to "rub someone out".

  3. not sure about Switzerland, but Germany is not part of a reciprocal fine/points system, and hence if you get flashed and sent a notice from Germany, it is a small possibility that they may chase it down as a civil debt, but highly unlikely. I have a mate who got flashed in a hire car in Germany, with all the forms, etc signed in the rental office it was easy for the Bavarian police to chase down, but he did not sign for the original recorded delivery letter, and the subsequent non-signed for letters, and then the letters stopped coming. he has since been back to Germany on many occasions with no problem (although he did have a squeaky bum first time after the event when going through passport control, or so he tells me).

country to country it varies, so you would have to double check with regard to Switzerland, but gut feel is that they cannot prove who was driving, merely that you are the registered keeper, hence a prosecution or chasing of debt would be extremely difficult.

  4. And you did say you weren't driving anyway and you had forgotten which of your friends had been :Angelic:

  5. Which means the owner gets the fine anyway

  6. Is that the case between Swiss Law and a UK Citizen? In the UK yes, but I don't think anyone is sure on this one, no definitive answer yet. Registered keeper or owner ;) he might of forgot who owns it too...
Where's Pete when you need him :smileys:

  7. All the info and opinions I can find say if I don't go back there don't pay but if I ever do obviously I'm in trouble

Depends what the fine is really

Loads of us have been done but so far only 1 has had the fine which was 1100CHF

  8. So it's cheaper now with the false crash of the pound ;)

  9. £850 :Jawdrop: bloody hell ! Andy

  10. A lad on the trip went wrong way up a slip road and hit a bus wrote off his GT3 and got a £1600 fine...

    Expensive trip

  11. Sounds like you could all do with some basic driver training... :tonguewink:
