Hey everyone, new hypermotard owner here, and also a new member. I'm new here, just jumped from being a Ktm owner and I'm after some advice if that's OK? I've just bought a 2009 hypermotard 1100s, but some brute has chopped the beak down, it looks awful and I was wondering if there's an online shop where I can get parts? My old ktm, you could go online and find any part for your bike instantly, but I can't find the same for ducati? Any help would be much appreciated, thanks everyone.
That's great, a good start anyway. Thank you. I think I need the under tray, and associated fixings as well. I didn't expect such a quick reply, very impressed!
A lot! Pretty much to the headlight. To be honest, it hurts to even look at the bike at the minute. It looks like it's been in a fight with a dremel in an acid bath. I'll sort it though, full major service first, then I'll make it pretty again.
It does make a massive difference doesn't it? The guy that I bought it off absolutely loved the look of it all hacked and sliced, it really doesn't work for me. Does the beak come off quite easily? And if I order one from ducati, do they come primed ready to paint? Or are they already the right colour? Sorry for all of the questions.
Be ready for a BIG rice knowing Ducati if buying new... Its only 6 bolts and the whole beak and it's undertray come off Last one I saw with it cut off reminded me of a KTM Duke...
Ok, so unable to find anywhere online to order the beak, I rang up a dealer. Prices were £465 for the beak, £100 for the under tray and £15ish for the fixings...... Ouch! I've now searched ebay and found a white beak new for £230, and ordered it. I'll probably have to order the under tray and fixings through a dealer.
The word Ducati = Expensive.... My mate just got a Warranty Direct quote for his 13 plate 10,000 mile Triumph Street Triple 675 £189 for a year Quote for my 08 12,000 mile Hyper 1100... £789 ha ha ha ha
It's a bit of a shock the price to be honest, but truthfully, I've always, always wanted a ducati, so I'm just going to have to deal with the fact I'm going to get shafted quite regularly! I've booked it in for a major service as well this week, valves, belts fluids etc.... That price made me wince a little as well!
Jody, you're a legend! That's exactly what I need. Thank you so much for looking for, and linking the item.
Hi Moses, So far I have the white beak (ordered from Italy), the black undertray which fits under the beak (ordered from America) thanks to Jody, the bolts and clips (ordered from the UK). The bike is now in for a full service and the mechanic has spotted that the headlamp bracket/rear surround has been hacked away as well, so I'm currently on the hunt for one of those..... It never ends! Thank you so much for the offer of the black beak though, I do appreciate it.
