I'll pitch in about the usefulness of this poll. The problem is that it's a binary question, with no nuance or sense of scale. One or two return trips to the dealer for pre-emptive warranty recalls are lumped in with multiple engine and electronics failures. Some people have no tolerance for the slightest issue, while others will ride around/through many problems, and everybody has a different threshold. For that reason, this poll has no value to me. Break it down into type of problem, with some information about how quickly and well the problem was sorted by Ducati and/or the dealer, and _then_ you'd have me. But that's me: I'm all about the nuances and subtleties, which is why I bought at 1200cc V-twin road-going ICBM, and attached GPS guidance to it.
I can't see the poll :-( I've had the resetting trip computer, the fuel sender unit, and I swear I need new discs. However, 2 trips round Europe doing over 3k miles per trip and it's not missed a beat. I love it... But! What else would you go for? I love it but I worry what to do in a year when the warranty is up. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
And beautifully. Well... the pannier mounting system is made of spun sugar, the windscreen is next to useless and there have been a couple of warranty recalls, but as an overall riding experience, it's bloody fantastic. The engine and suspension have never let me down.
You can now extend the warrantee for 1 or 2 more years It's 350 for a year but probably a wise investment based on costs of replacement parts and labour rates...
I was informed by a dealer this weekend gone Hyper, that Ducati had reinstated it. Got nothing written in blood though I'm sorry
I would take issue with this type of thing being brought forward by individuals with a personal agenda. You have a problem with your bike so you make a big issue about it with the clear intention of influencing public opinion to the point that your actions might potentially affect the market value of the thing you bought. Talk about crapping in your own pants to make a point. Hoist by your own petard.
People airing their grievances on here might be to try and influence Ducati's performance, and your absolutely right about comments on here having a detrimental effect on the reputation and value of a bike, but the alternative is to suffer problems and say absolutely nothing ? That's not really an option either is it, the only thing that will ensure is that Ducati do absolutely nothing.
That's not what I'm saying. Everyone has a voice and is entitled to an opinion, but actually coming on here and bitching about an issue won't actually achieve anything. If it does achieve anything then it's only going to be the potential of friction between the buyer and the supplier. Also, lets not make the completely unreasonable assumption that Ducati or any of their dealers take the time to monitor every single forum and every single post made by a customer with a gripe. Not only that but the buyer DOES NOT have a direct contract with Ducati themselves - their contract is with the dealer, who in turn is indemnified by Ducati. If you have a problem then take it to a dealer. If the dealer doesn't address it to your satisfaction then ffs "man up" and get a solicitor. If you want something done about your grievance then you have to go about things the right way - trust me, I've been there, and there are more reasons to NOT post stuff on a forum about an issue than there are reason to do it at all. Not least that posting stuff in a forum about a case which ends up going to litigation will definitely NOT help your case and will definitely harm it. I actually brought a case against a very well known car dealership network with a car that I bought from new with finance at a cost of about £53,000. I collected the car as new in the January and by the time June the same year had rolled around I'd had that car in my possession for a total of 6 weeks - the rest of the time it was in the garage being fixed. In the meantime I was on Pistonheads bitching and dripping and whining the hole time thinking I would get some public leverage out of it. The time came when I rejected that car and took legal action and all I can tell you is that after all the legal advise that told me to go to court and when all is said and done and it ends up in front of a judge, then they look very carefully about how you conducted yourself in dealing with the issue and it WILL have a direct result on your level of compensation. And that my friend is fact. Don't whine about it here, it's not productive and it just makes the air smell. If you think you have a case then grow some hair and get lawyered up. That's what they take notice of. The motor manufacturing world takes a VERY circumspect view of the online world. If they spent their time chasing down every one with a gripe that couldn't be bothered to work it through with their dealer first then they won't have time for you.
