You think 12k mls is a lot? It's 8 years old, it's just been used rather than played with. Only 1500 mls per year.
No. Bikes are built to do higher mileage now. I've an original blade with 60k on it and she'd still ballistic. As long as her timing belts have been done every two years she shoukd be ok
True. It's all relative though. 12K of motorway miles is nothing to a commuter like a CBR600F. 12K on a play thing like a Hyper could be a different story though?
Wouldn't put me of, 20k is about my cut off. Speak to the guy, it may just be a few commutes on nice days and every other Sunday morning. I'd worry more if it was a tracked sports bike.
My 2012 evo is on 39000 miles, I still hammer it as if at 5000 miles, if looked after properly should be fine. Go for it, looks pretty tidy.
Where was I reading recently about those Hyper engines and higher mileages ? Any how , the upshot was the spanner man was basically saying if you can feck up one of those engines it's through your own stupidity like low oil because the engines are bullet proof. The trouble with ' high ' mileage like that is isn't the point , its just we've got so used to seeing bikes with silly low mileage we then see this one as high when it's not the case at all. If the bike is great and your happy with the condition for the year then away you go !!!!
