1200 DVT Fuzeblock

  1. Hi all.... Apologies if I am asking something that has already been addressed... Have looked and search but could not find... I have been getting some led daylights to put on DVT.. so I'm thinking of fitting a fuzeblock fz1 has anyone fitted one to their dvt? Or suppose any other manufacturer of similar devices. If so where did you mount it? Had thought if mounting it under pillion seat as there's a nice little space but would it be OK to drill a hole through the subframe crossmember between both the power sockets ? Was thinking of taking a switched live feed from the 12v power socket on sub frame?or maybe take the socket out and just extend the switched live so no splicing Could anyone else recommend an alternative nearby switched feed which..as the headlights do wait until engine starts before coming on? I know they are really small current and power just not want the battery to have to work any harder than it had to in cranking it over..last question (promise ) is what connector do people use for splicing into switched live? A t type posi lock? Thanks in advance.... Paul

  2. Hi
    I fitted a PDM60 PDM60 PDM60 - Rowe Electronics
It was hideously expensive for what is a fuseblock/relay but the pdm60 means you cut off the fuses from the extra lights, power sockets, sat nav whatever you attach and program the 6 circuits to whatever Amps you need via a USB cable to the PC, its also waterproof so can be exposed.
I fitted one to my Bandit 1250 under the seat and attached 5 accessories but haven't needed one for the Multi - only had the bike a week. It comes with Posilock connectors as well.

  4. FZ1 £69 - Relay soldered in - Fuses
Denali £103 - Can replace Relay - Fuses
PDM £129 - Fully weather sealed, no fuses, electronic relay, I think its the smallest as well but the most expensive.
    All from Nippy Normans

  5. I installed a FuzeBlock under the driver seat, plenty of room.

I took the trigger for the relay from the wire going to the rear powerlet under the passenger seat. I have a GPS, Radar Detector and set of Driving lights running off the Fuzeblock.

  6. Marvellous Chris just what the doctor ordered...that way saves drilling cross member...did you splice into power socket with what?or have you disconnected plug and extended it rendering socket with no power ? This wouldn't be an issue for me anyway
    Regards Paul
Marvellous Chris thanks for that just what the doctor ordered....did you splice into power socket cable and with what? Or did you disconnected and extend the switched live ?making the socket non unable but this wouldn't be an issue for me anyway tbh

  7. I attached the Fuzeblock with velcro, so I can move it if necessary. To splice the wire for the FuzeBlock relay trigger, I just used a common automotive splice on the power wire on the back of the powerlet, nothing fancy.

  9. Hi ChrisE..... fuzeblock arrived today so straight to mount under seat...... However tried in same position as yours but seat won't fit!!! Assuming your seat height us standard whereas mine has had the spacer removed which suits me as I'm a short arse lol... Can mount under pillion seat unless anywhere else other peeps have fitted theirs?

  10. Hi all..... I've started with the installation of the Fuzeblock FZ1..... Have decided to mount the unit on Velcro under the pillion seat as room is limited under the riders seat due to low seat cos of short arse syndrome.....have taken 12v power supply socket out of the left hand side under the riders seat...I am using the optimate power lead with a converter to power straight from battery and just disconnect it and connect optimate charger if necessary... The switched live I am taking from the supply to the disconnected power supply.... Using these cables and connectors I do not need to splice into any cables at all..... I purchased an open type rubber grommet which slots nicely in the hole vacated by the socket removal..secured with a smidgen of silicon....have included some pics and will update as I proceed onwards and upwards lol
