  1. I see what you mean................

    ........or rather, I don't.

And stop trying to make me look like an idiot..........you know very well you forgot to post the examples, then edited them in after my post.

  2. Nice tickover on the first.

No way to treat a cold engine on the second and what kind of starting technique is that??

  3. If my eyes are not deceiving me the second bike looks to have FCR carbs fitted which have no choke and so require a couple of handfuls of throttle to get the accelerator pumps to squirt neat fuel in to the engine to get it to start

  4. Aha. Still not good to rev it like that straight from cold though.... :/

  5. You don't get any disagreement from me on that score

  6. The first one revs really lethargically, like my carby, which I thought was basically because it is in bad tune. Are they all like this?

  7. Probably heavy flywheel on the older stuff

  8. Heavy flywheel and steel clutch basket means a lot of inertia to overcome so they rev rather lethargically, but you get some excellent engine braking to compensate

  9. Rim tape... :Yuck:

  10. Interesting.....my carby is slow to rev and has very little engine braking. I would expect a heavy flywheel to make engine braking less noticeable.

  11. Doh.... you are right @richgilb the stored inertia would make the engine braking less noticeable. Having a senior moment :Shamefullyembarrased:
