Do you take her pillion? If so ill let you know how i get on next week, I'm taking the Mrs with me on the XR around wales for 4 days so should be a decent test.....of my patience
Didn't actually do a test ride but going to book one for the 6th I think. I'll probably work in a route that has half solo and half 2-up Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Where are you based? Just thinking you could have a go on mine if you like, it's non electronic suspension but I've just added a click on the rear and left the front standard which suited me well round the nurburgring. I also know mines ok so should give you a decent assessment It isn't a twin so don't ride it like one, Rev the shit out of it, they love it it'll happily take you to triple digits in 2nd /3rd or pootle at 30mph in 6th
Riders in Cardiff have 5 or 6 in JH. Mate of mine had a test ride last Saturday on one and couldn't believe the poke in them, he's contemplating buying one but is worried that his license wont survive
I'm sure it'll be fine, my only problem is that when I find a nice set of bends I want to attack them like I do one up...... She kinda gets in the way of that but I'm sure it'll be fine. Hats off to her though, last time we went Scotland on my previous multistrada she sent me back solo up a set of bends we'd just rode while she waited for me in a lay by I think She knew that I wanted to push on, that shows she's understanding I guess
I get the shriek in the intercom when I press on. It's the "flip flops" she doesn't like where I go from cranked left to cranked right. I'm based in East Sussex, thanks for the offer but I'd rather take BMW's out. I'd be too worried about being on a stranger's to really test ride the shit out of it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
These are my "sorry I've been non-stop bitching about not having a bike" flowers. The reason is two fold, one being the bitching and two being I really like that expensive XR [emoji23] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
In fairness i did have my first problem on the XR Thursday. I couldn't get one of 4 bolts out to put the rear rack on, it kept spinning in the subframe which i thought was going to ruin my trip next week. Obviously the grab handles were still on but i needed the top box, if i forced it out then id never get a new bolt back in to fit the rack But BMW Pidcocks looked at it yesterday morning, rush booked me in today at 9am and 5 hours later they've fixed it and even fitted the rack and cleaned the bike I didn't even buy the bike off them, very impressed with that
fingers crossed Ducati come up with something... Years ago I got rid of my first Multi towards end of warranty as I'd had it missing gears on a regular occurrence... Every time I told dealer they checked it said I wasn't positive enough with my gear selection.. So I phoned ducati UK explaining I had documented every time I'd had trouble so thought Ducati would honour any troubles outside warranty period as I had raised it but nothing was found....... NO was the answer!!! "so part exed it for new Blade... Hope now Ducati owned by Audi things have changed?? .... Never tested one of the BMW alternatives XR but read few reviews and they supposed to be really vibey right where you don't want them to be?..... Long test run may show or dismiss this?? Either way good luck
Bikes .....MEH !! Least of the VAG's worrys with billions of euros law suit hanging over them over the emissions scandal ....
