As I approach 13k miles on the bike (I bought it at 3k in November) I'm noticing that the front pads are probably about due a change and one of the discs seems to have developed a high spot, or possibly slightly warped, as it has started pulsing through the lever. So, what pads and discs are folks using on their 899's as I'm looking at changing them in a few weeks, along with a new chain and a 5th rear tyre.
Brembo discs and SC pads. Have you checked that the disc bobbins are free to rotate ? It is a known issue that the disc can stick slightly off true if the bobbins are seized and it's a simple fix. Andy
Cheers, I was thinking that as I got caught in a few torrential downpours when I was touring so wondered if they had maybe seized up a bit. Will try it first and see if it improves.
I can definitely recommend the SBS RS pads and they are a quarter the price of the OEM pads. Way more feel. I got mine from MSR on eBay. These are the 899 versions Ducati 899 Panigale Front Brake Pads SBS 900RS Race Sinter 2015-2016 | eBay
give hps bikes a call they have series oro discs in stock and there reasonably priced, but as andy says sc brembo pads are great.
oh dear mate, can i ask what went wrong?? ive dealt with them quite alot and always been helpfull. dont worry i dont work for um or anything.
I put these Brembo Sintered pads on the 959 before Donnington. Felt really good, and less than £70. Brembo Brake Pads for Ducati motorcycles
I ordered the SBS RS ones and then everyone comes on raving about the brembo ones, typical. Will check the disc buttons and if it doesn't improve I'll order some brembo discs. Job done, cheers.
Just means when the SBS RS ones wear out you buy the Brembo SC and do a direct comparison - win/win . Andy
I always used Brembo SC pads on my 675R and 899. They cost around £75-80. First pads I checked for the 1299 but they were £125 so ended up getting the SBS based on reports. SBS RS have more feel than the SCs in my opinion. Not too bothered if they last half the time as they were a third of the brembos.
I tried to return a faulty product which I only had for days they wouldn't except it so in the end I went directly to the manufacturer and resolve the issue with them Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
