Nope. I'm 6'1" and fit my 1098 just fine. I can get cramp in my hip after a long day, but I think that's down to my ageing skeleton.

You'll have no problem with the 1198 I'm sure... 6'4 and 18st here and have no issues at all apart from the Slippery seat syndrome!!

 

Also worth noting that when you do purchase a bike, if you don't post photo's on here it didn't happen!!

If anything, the 1198 is a "larger" superbike for the larger gentleman. I think you may be a little on the small side at 5ft 11"
They are huge compared to other offerings.

 

I've got a mate who's 5'8" and he can't ride my bike as he can't touch the floor. I do have a Superpole seat on it, but it only adds an inch.

 

You'll have no problem I'm 16st and let's say more rugby stature that athletes I can confirm 1098/1198 about the most comfortable sports bike out there .

 

I reckon that my 1098R is actually ever so slightly smaller than my 748R. I did overhear a rather large gentleman being unkindly described as wearing his 1098/1198 like a thong. Andy

 

I guess it's a personal thing Andy but I've done a 300 mile run on my 1198 and been limited to the numb bum, but my 748/996 would have had me in tears buy 200

 

im selling my 1198 mate, your welcome to come and try it see if it fits.

 

Bloody hell, I couldn't do 300 miles on the Multistrada let alone either of the Rs :Nailbiting:. The 748 is currently a track bike and the 1098 is a high days and holidays 2 tanks worth. Andy

 

6' 1", heavier than you and definitely not "athletic" in build but it's fine. A Superpole gave me more leg room, but the neck suffers a bit. No such thing as a free lunch! Also, you get a natural break every 70 miles or so when you need to refuel...

 

I have a 1098R and can touch the floor...some would say I can't ride it though...!!
