Hi everyone I'm Kev and have just joined. In March I bought a multistrada 1200 and absolutely love it. I've had bikes all my life from R1 s a 999 and before the mts a gsx1400. Like a lot of my mates as we're getting older the bikes are getting a little more comfortable and if I'm honest I was beginning to loose a little enthusiasm for biking, that is before I had the mts now it's like I've got my mojo back. I didn't realise you could have the best of both worlds sports performance with touring comfort. A group of us toured France this year something we've been doing every other year for years but I'd never enjoyed it as much as I did this year on the mts, I would like to fit a sat nav and would like advice. Is the bike pre wire electrically for a sat nav. Thanks Kev
don't know about the Multistrada but the Hyperstrada is pre-wired with the sat nav and heated grips wiring tucked behind the headlight, it's even labeled
I've been using an old iPhone 3gs with tomtom installed, it has no use to me as a phone anymore so it doesn't even have a sim card in it as tomtom will just work from the GPS. you can get a waterproof enclosure and fitting kit, the name escapes me now but it's a well known biker make. Having said that I'm now looking at the tomtom rider (v5), reason why is that it's easier to use with gloves on and a slightly bigger screen than the phone I'm using
The tomtom rider is the one I've been looking at. I'm a truck driver and I would be able to use it for work and the bike. My mate with a streetfighter has gone directly from his battery but I would have thought the mts would be set up for a sat nav.
Mul Multi is pre wired for sat nav and most go for the garmin Zumo affixed via the navihalter bracket, there are posts on here and you tube videos of the fitting and location of the wiring.
