Oh, and "apparently" letting her have a lie-in (didn't wake her when I got up) and cleaning her car in/out DOES NOT = a 1100 Evo SP! I'm gobsmacked!
She even said "if I was to agree, which I'm not, which bikes would you sell to fund it?"!!! Bikes! Plural!!!!!
Well this morning we played (with our grandsons) with Lego and jigsaws, then took them to a park in Holmfirth. After about 90 minutes on swings, climbing frames, slides, zip lines etc we then went to see a local weir. There were two young boys and a girl (all about 10 yo) jumping into the water and swimming in the river. It was fantastic to see and our two were captivated by it all, with the youngest (2yo) saying he wanted to do that when he was bigger We then came home and had some lunch before we watched (I say "we" but I fell asleep on the sofa) ToyStory, which the kids hadn't seen before. I then left SWMBO with them both till #1 son & wife came to collect them as I went out on the Xdiavel to meet with @bettes and @Exige, whereupon we then rode to Squires for a coffee. Squires was busy'ish and the weather was lovely enough to sit outside comfortably and people watch. When it came to leaving @bettes had a panic on as he couldn't find his bike keys . Eventually after a bit of a search around the bike in the car park he went back in to the coffee shop area and found they'd been handed in. Panic over. The ride home was fun, but I have to say that this bike, though quite torquey and fun, isn't ticking all of the boxes. Though the cruise control and self cancelling indicators are quite nice touches. Tomorrow I'll stretch its legs a bit more and head down to @JenC to see her and John and some of the stragglers from today's BBQ
Lego :Wideyed: you could have brought the Lego! Yip, silly @bettes - he would loose his head if it was loose. (How do you spell loose and loose :Bucktooth Before meeting those two I bought a van!!!!!!
Heard a couple of bangs and some scraping from the back of the car yesterday so took the bike to work today, had a look into the rear brakes tonight... As I suspected, the handbrake shoe retaining pin had pulled through the back plate. And mangled stuff New handbrake fitting kit is going to be in on monday, and one for a Renault something, they have the opposite arrangement so the pins lock into little washers, they can be trimmed down to fit behind this back plate. Changing the back plate is a mare because the drive hub has to come off, which will pull the wheel bearing apart so it will need a pair of rear bearings too... And while the rear arms are off I might as well change all the 14 year old bushings... And this is why it's a quick repair for now.
@El Toro @Exige , you don't get it, do you! Said I'd lost my keys but that was just an excuse to go back to the bar to see that fit blonde biker babe with nice boobies one more time. Had you both fooled!
I was going to say 'I'm with ET but um perhaps not. What about if you clean her car again next week? Would that swing it?
Early Pilates class, around to the optician to sort out contact lenses, home, eat. Then a ride over to the Calne bike day, parked at the UK MOC stand. Had a good walk around then back to the stand, quick catch up with Char and a longer chat to Liz. Always a good day out and almost always warm like today. Home to BBQ.
Ah well, putting my wife hat on...It is the very least you should do, what were you thinking, that cleaning the car was enough!!!
