Put a security camera system on the house and garage. Another layer of security for the bikes is the way I look at it. They can be viewed on my iPhone when away from home and send a message when they detect movement. All very impressive for £130. :Snaphappy: Bounding up and down ladders all day has left my legs aching more than when I last rode my old MV Agusta.
I have an industrial spec wireless system all over my garages, house and gate with vibration/breaker and movement sensors - but like the idea of viewing on your phone. Linkey?
Today is the tenth anniversary of my wife's death. The hardest part was making it look like an accident
Strange how my mobile phone shit itself so close to coming out of contract. New phone in the post. Took the 959 out for a spin. Had to pull in to see how to switch off the full beam. :Bucktooth:
I've been to @JenC place today on the test ride XDiavel, as I couldn't make it yesterday. Met a few stragglers from the BBQ that I'd not met before but saw @chizel, who I had I was suitably looked after my @JenC and Mr JenC and had a couple of coffees and a bacon butty! Delish I then headed home about 1pm and took the scenic and twisty route home via Matlock, Buxton, Glossop etc. And now for a bit of a bike review after having had the Xdiavel for five days.................... I have to say that the Xdiavel is very different to how you think it will be. You soon get used to the feet forward thing and though the bike is some 70kg heavier than either my Panigale or Scrambler it's very easy to move around and it's extremely nimble when it's on the move. It also has some nice features like the self cancelling indicators and cruise control (which was useful where there was average speed cameras). It also has launch control but I didn't try it out It's also a very comfortable bike despite the seating/feet forward/gangsta stance. The seat is much more comfortable than the original Diavel - for me anyway. The engine is a peach. Lots of midrange grunt, and it sounds good too. Handling is light and sharp, not Panigale sharp but pretty good nonetheless. Couple of issues that I would mention are the mirrors, that shake like a bastard and you have to be really firm with first gear when at the lights etc otherwise you soon find out that though it's showing first gear on the dash that it's actually in neutral. But apart from that it's a pretty good bike. And the detailing/design on the S is exceptional. You can certainly appreciate the engineering that's gone into it. And when you roll it on it certainly makes you smile. Would I buy one? No, not as my main bike. And probably not as my second either. Cruisers (and don't let the bike mags tell you this is anything otherwise) are not really my thing. Not yet anyway. However I'm sure it'll do well in the USA, which is really the market it's aimed at. If you're curious as to how it performs get yourself down to your local dealer and get one out for a day. You might have some fun
Did about 200 miles on my jack jones starting off down the A22 past East Grinstead to somewhere (can't remember) where I could pick up the A272 which I rode through to Petworth then dropped down the A285 towards Chichester (recommended by a friend) which was a great bit of road. Popped along to Bognor for some fish & chips on the seafront before taking the A286 back up to Midhurst and then picked up the A272 again out to Winchester. Saw a couple of bikecidents with one Gixxer wrapped up badly in a road sign but thankfully the rider was sat down having a smoke and wasn't badly hurt. Back along the 272 to the 264 and back home. Finally got the 1299's first service yesterday so had the full rev range to play with hence the ride out. Had some pretty laugh-out-loud moments in the helmet as, boy, does that thing have some power. The way it gets to and stays at 60 wink is incredible... Knackered now but happy!
El T got into a conversation at Ferry Bridge Services on Saturday when meeting me and @bettes. A beardy guy laughed and said 'a Harley hanging about with two Ducati's?' Shook his head and walked off amused.
After 39 degrees of heat on holiday Wantz managed to get sunburnt down the allotment today . Nice haul of spuds and a zucchini though
Just got back from a 4 day trip up north, taking in a bit of jockland and Cumbria,i have to say you northerners have some epic roads, especially enjoyed the roads around Penrith, even the Mrs is now enjoying the twisty stuff, either that or she has just got fed up of digging me in the ribs.Oh the multi did not throw up any errors or break down in any way honest.
