I won't name him on here as he's a good mate of mine! He is a car dealer about my age who specialises in 911's,Ferrari 355/360 and other older lumpy bits in the £30 - 55,000 price range - deals from a nice upmarket home.He always has 2/3 cars up at craxy unrealistic prices - sometimes £10,000 more than the dearest one on the Internet! You would be amazed how many enquiries/sales he gets on his "crazy cars" as he refers to them.People think they must be something special or rare? They are also ideal for punters who want unrealistic or stupid money in part exchange for their current car? Nowt stranger than folk - as they say???
A fool and his money.................. He may be onto something. I would never go to look at the cheapest bike on the market of the model I was after. I've been there and learnt my lesson. I don't mind giving good money for a good bike, even paying slightly over the odds if it were something I wanted that I may not get another chance on. But I'd never give way over the top for a bike.
It's a tactic that's been used forever by dealers for various reasons, not least to 'suggest' that particular car/bike/boat is the best quality one around for sale. I knew a dealer principle at a large Mitsubishi outlet a few years ago who purposely overpriced the Shogun his wife was using in their autotrader adds for a few months as she particularly liked it. I do like the Matrix, Its a shame with such low miles that Ducati can't get there engine paint right and not flake and stop corrosion of all nuts/bolts.

If you look through his eBay items, he has another (prototype) Superleggera with frame No1 but no stamped top yoke. Andy
On the face of it, looking at the descriptions of his other items, he is not product knowledgeable and could have been taken advantage of. The moment he declared that (it seems all) the bikes he has for sale are European sourced and located in France, I switched off. Can't be arsed with all the hassle to get it registered in the UK and his prices are shall I say optimistic. Andy
