Just got to Grantham and my ears have popped. Some people on the platform were smiling and talking to each other, must be something wrong with them. People don't do that in London
Just got home, 3 hrs travel time, half hour to stop twice for fuel. Hands are tingling and bum is numb, pictures to follow. Bike starts and runs beautifully now, what a great mechanic and nice chap Ducati John is. If only he was nearer i'd use him for servicing all the time. What is strange is twice while i was coming to a roundabout and slow enough to be able to flick the switch to change the dash to the battery voltage page it showed only 11.3 ish volts and was flashing, as if to say danger/fault. Did it twice more and it was fine, 14.1 and 13.8. I've recently changed the r/r to a misfit one and relocated it under the seat, so could it have been those two times were coincidentally when it had got too hot and had cut out, which i've read it does? The two good times were later in the day when the ambient temperature had dropped a few degrees. @chrisw - is there an option to override that safety feature of not being able to change the dash unless below a certain speed?
No idea. My go to re dash boards is in OZ - Riderlogic. If the battery voltage is low then the power is directed to the ECU. I picked my 1198 up from John's and the battery was flat. We jumped it off and on the way home I kept losing the dash display. Bike ran fine but no speedo. Once fully charged then dash came back and has not done the same since.
