Hi I have had a project for quite a few years (decade) to build a very special Foggy Rep with RS specs of c. 1998/1999. I am just not finding the time and the garage is cluttered. So I am considering moving on and would be interested in a swap for something tasty if anybody was after the opposite journey. The project was centered on a Foggy frame which was cat D - This frame is available but still slightly bent. The built was done from a clean spare replacement frame restamped with the same numbers. V5 available with frames. The frames have the lower cross member. I also have the foggy top yoke. both frames included. Special Desmoquattro SPS engine rebuilt by Nelly. Clean cases (not deep sump), Ti rods, High comp pistons, 431/G cams, oversized valves, blueprint + spare heads and cams. Mag RS arm, RS shock, RS linkage, big hub, race floating disc and Brembo billet caliper, races wheels (2 sets in 17" and 1 set in 16.5"), Clean RS carbon body work + some spare sets, big airbox and air tubes, 60mm RS throttle bodies, 2 sets of RS tanks, one with internals and almost enough internals to equip second, SPS loom and RS loom, RS breather box, complete wide track front end with adjustable eccentric, 46mn FG ohlins forks with axial mounts (clean refurbished with spare bottoms), Brembo monoblocs, many sets of race discs in 320 and 290, RS clipons, 54mm stainless / titanium RS system, RS oil cooler, Road and race rads, P8 ECU, analogic dials and AIM Pista, and I forget quite a few bits. You should have enough to build a road worthy race replica of the 1998/1999 era. All those parts are priceless to find and took about 10 years collecting. I would consider some swap for Desmosedici, Panigale Superleggera or could discuss some deal with a latest Pani R or Anniversario. Not interested in other mainstream models or even 1098R or the likes. I would not sell any of the parts by themselves. Please let me know if that's of interest to anybody here. thanks p
collecting the bits is what takes the time.....tidy the garage, make the time, MTFU and put it together....
Swaps? Nice one. How about Mousetrap AND KerPlunk? I'll even get Cheggers to deliver them personally. Original boxes and everything.
I was thinking the same thing. :Meh: Not wanting to take the piss out of someone's genuine advert, but am I missing something here? :Wideyed:
Restored examples of genuine ex race 996RS's have had problems selling recently in the £20k price bracket and my guess is that to the right buyer this is a case of the sum of the parts being greater than the whole. Having purchased ex race engines with full provenance and quite a selection of RS components for my own project, I do have concerns that there may be insufficient value in the parts to exchange for any of the bikes mentioned. fair comments but there can always be money either way, and whether one takes all the spares or not, etc. Just that I am not interested swapping something special for a regular S for instance. I don't quite see Desmo shifting in the masses at 40k either btw - so putting value on things is difficult. Difficult as well to put a value on it indeed. RS vary massively in price but can only be used on track. This could be used for road and enjoyed more often as a result. That was the idea of the build. If somebody is interested we can have a discussion, if not, then I'll just have to get going with the build and finish it as intended. Not interested in splitting parts as it was too hard obtaining them in the first instance.
