Star Wars or Star Trek?

  1. Definitely Wars for me. Never managed to endure a whole Trek episode.

  2. I can't suspend disbelief at all in Trek or Wars. But the fun of the films is the sets, props, costumes, alien suits, special effects, and stunts. Star Wars is better with all that stuff - there are a good 5 minutes worth watching in each hour of film. And the dire acting is an education in itself. They are what used to be called B movies, hyped up into blockbusters.

  5. I think your lens or screen is cracked Gaz

  6. Space: Back of Beyond (as we used to refer to it). Properly known as Space: Above and Beyond

Honourable mentions for Firefly (and Serenity), Farscape, Babylon 5 and Battlestar Galactica (the modern version).

To answer the question .. Star Trek (the various series, if not the movies). Star Wars was a wonderful spectacle when it first came out but since then there have been other wonderful spectacles that have also featured decent acting, grown-up plots, script writers who can write scripts and directors who can direct movies. I like my films to work on more than one level, if at all possible.

  13. Not that bothered about either but, if I had to choose one it would be Star Trek, at least it hasn`t got that annoying fcukwit jar jar binks in it.

My must see tv at the mo is The Walking Dead and Broadwalk Empire.

  14. Episode 4 of Season 3 of walking dead was great and preview of next episode made me anxious.

  15. Walking dead and American horror story for me

  16. I picked up each season of B5 for £10 and am coming to the end of S5. It looks a bit dated ie very ninties, but its really good sci fi. Good value for money. Bruce Boxleitner can be abit 'All Amercian' from time to time, but the relationship between Molari and G'Kar is some great stuff
