Race Track Bike Kawasaki zx10r MSS 2011/12 | eBay I bought this to race at Knockhill last weekend, it's a competitive bike and I managed 3x clubman wins and an overall win in the Superbike class. Spare wheels etc, would make an excellent track or race bike.
Only bought to do the race meeting last weekend, it's a quick bike, east to just jump on and ride. If I don't get the money I'll keep it for Spain next year
I have had four different versions of the RSV4 now, from an early 2009 to my current 2014 model. All just track bikes, have done thousands of track miles, never had any engine or any other problem, and will be looking to see what the new 2017 model has for me :sunglasses::italy:
Was at Aragon couple of year ago, 2 weren't running right. One guy had fell off didn't know the others story
only 3x wins, clubman and superbike run in same race at Knockhill. I won the 3x clubman, but also managed to beat a few of the regulars that run as superbike class, it was wet. First time I've used full wets
The RSV4 does not like running short exhausts, too lean, they cause valve problems in higher mileage bikes. Not sure if that is helped if a race ECU is used.
Bikes quick, knockhill reverse is quite bumpy and I think with the maxton suspension it works well, the Ducati was too hard I think. The wet made it a more comfortable pace due to my lack of fitness, I was just starting to get a good feel and it was red flagged due to a bike in the middle of the track
Mines got a full akra system with a shortened can (seems to be the norm for most RSV4 owners) not sure about the valve problem in higher mileage but my ecu has been dyno'd against the full system with the shortened can. In agreement also ive got one of the oldest ones and ive not had a serious issue with mine....the worst problem ive had was the rocker covers leaking to which there was an updated part for it, which cured it. Apart from that its been a stonking bike, owned it 4 years now and cant see myself selling it. Its just ticked over 10k so its gonna be due for its valve check soon but, having said that it starts on the button which is the first tell tale sign of valves being out of spec... Thought you'd sold/px'd it now Simon? - I guess you've still managed to hang on to it...
