Despite dragging my elbows around nearly every corner the Phot man didn't get me any hero shots at Snetterton today but this guy was Fecking fast and doing this everywhere. No idea who he is but very impressive.
Donnington Park today on the new 1199R. I take lots of bad lines because I'm not used to the bike yet and find it difficult to be precise. I got a time of 1'42'' which is four seconds quicker than my time a year ago so happy with the days work but there's plenty of space for improvement. The guy filming is a mate of sam1199s and an ex supersport champion and super stock winner. Following me is like going to the shops for him, he literally passes me and he's gone by the next corner! He's lapping Donnington at 1'33''.
#smug There is no doubt about that, the closest I came so far has involve more than just my elbow touching down!
Haha yeah sorry for the smug narcissism !! I've been getting the lean angle and elbow down for quite a while but never managed to get any footage of it so always wondered what it looked like. I want to drill it until it feels natural and I can get down to maximum lean angle much quicker as I reckon the key to fast lap times on the Panigale is to get it turned really fast and lift it up again to get the acceleration out of the corner.
