Avade Heated Base Layer

  1. Well been using this for a couple of weeks now, mostly at work but a couple of rides too. Got a Keis heated bodywarmer that I can plug into bike while riding but off the bike the battery is pretty cumbersome. So wanted something that you can use off the bike as well as short commutes and this has been brilliant...

    AVADE  LIGHTWEIGHT HEATED GARMENTS

Works out about £120 + around £23 import duty, and everything is in the box including uk charger and a 4400Ah battery. Stephen is quick to communicate with questions and hope he get's a UK distributor soon. And as a base layer is comfortable under leather jackets whereas the Keis is a little bit more bulkier.

Just to compare the Keis body warmer costs around £100 the 4000Ah battery and charger around £90. A really worthwhile addition to your kit wardrobe. I run it over the top of another base layer and find the lowest setting is usually more than enough around 30c, max is 50c [IMG] and on lowest will last approx 6 hours.

As you can see well pleased with it [IMG]

  2. Sent him an email as when i pressed buy, it didn't add the international postage charges,....then i noticed the little box stating contact if overseas!

  3. Looks good, I've just sent an email too, recon this would be great all round, on my bike or under the dry suit on the jet ski or boat.

  4. I've bought two tops, the only add-on i can think as the three heat modes are really nice. Would be a kidney side heating patches. I am over the moon with having a piece of tech that means i can relax & not rush (or be eager) to get out of chilly weather.

  5. I've ordered two from them, as shipping was the same cost, also asked them to supply on the paperwork as samples and a low cost invoice, so as not to get stung on import duty, which they said they would do no problem.

  6. Guy's are you still happy with your Oz heated top's?
    Looking at buying a top.

  7. Am indeed! Worth every penny :upyeah:

    • Thanks Thanks x 1
  8. Do Gerbing offer similar products?

  9. My new black Avade top turned up. looks good, will try it in a few weeks. Too warm at mo in UK :D
There is now a UK shop that sells them. £129 including battery and charger (UK plug). Give Martin a call at trailandoffroad.co.UK
Not affiliated with them at all just given their details when I contacted the company in Oz.

Very chuffed with Avade top. Medium setting all I need at mo. Will test this Saturday when it's going to be mildly cold!

  11. Hi Biot,

Do you have an update on Avade top, pros and cons.

    Cheers

    Scotrmz

  12. Update. Out on the old bike at 0.5 to 1.5 C for a total of 5 hours. Kept the top on the medium setting (amber glow on button). Was lovely. All I had on was the Avade top, a thin long micro fleece over that and my Klim Badlands jacket (which does not have a thermal and or waterproof seperate liner/s). So 3 layers all up.
The battery was fully charged before heading off and I get about 2 to 2.5 hours before the thing is flat. You can of course wire it into the bike.
You can only hand wash it but that's no problem.
My rule of thumb is; if i lost it would i immediately replace with same? Oh yes i would.
As for cons, can't think of one. Apart from they should all be locked up!!

  13. Thanks for update, always watch out for the Cons :tongueout:

  14. Has anyone managed more than 2.5 hours out of theirs?

  15. Not with mine. Have 3 batteries so change them, although longest ride i do in the cold is 5 hours.

  16. Thanks for your reply. I suppose we stop often enough to refuel and only takes a few seconds to swap batteries.

  17. Exactly. Still very happy with it.

  18. Does the heat tend to permeate all around under the jacket, or do you find that there are just hot spots where the elements are as it is a skin tight fit?

  19. Check out Exo heated clothing, similar prices and extremely effective, even going over the Alps in the snow. Ask me how i know.
No heating elements to break either just even warmth.

    Cool as

    you know what i mean.

  20. Although my commute too & from work is usually less then one hour. I carry a second battery & only recharge them once one has ran out over the course of a few days. The highest heat setting is lovely in minus weather & would recommend this product without a doubt but order a spare battery!
