899 Service

  1. Maybe a stupid question, but is this first annual service to be done 12 months from the 600 mile service or 12 months from bike being new?

  2. 12mths from previous service. Your book should already have a 'next service by' date with in.

  3. 12 months from 600. You would want to do your 2nd annual before the 2 years is up though. My dealer advised me to do this so they can check for any work that would be covered by the warranty.

  4. Does anyone know any other good Ducati dealers around the Midlands?
As I'm looking for someone who provides good service.
And I wanted to use them for servicing and maintence.
I had booked my bike in at Coventry a week ago for this Monday just gone, and they haven't even started on it and I've been four days with out a bike, so I'm having to catch the train everyday, and trying to get in touch to get an update, but no returned calls so far :(

But seems like they are only looking after regulars or people modding their bikes, the sales is great service, but it seems cause I'm new they're not too fused.
And first time I've used a dealer that doesn't offer a loan bike, or is this with Ducati dealers in general?

I thought if the bikes booked in for a day they usually work on it on the booked date..?
I just want somewhere that treat you fairly even if you didn't buy off them.

  5. @nelly at Cornerspeed :)

  6. That's shocking that they've not started it when it was booked in. I'd be straight down there taking my bike away. Useless C**ts.

  7. My local dealer will not allow you to keep a loan bike over night!

  8. Get yourself another dealer ;)

  9. Was told it was due to their insurer!! Have secure garage on side of my house but that made no difference. Oh hum.

  10. Coming towards end of the week and still no news on bike, and have called every day! This is the first time service I've done with a Ducati as well :(
Anyone else had a loan bike from Coventry Ducati before?

  11. Why have you not complained?

Have you said you will take bike away and use someone else?

  12. Two reasons mainly, 1 is cause I have left a lot of messages daily and get no response and say the service will call, and other is I don't want them to do something to my bike :/

  13. The problem is that you DO want them to do something to your bike! ;)
This is unlike JHP. I have used them often, and they were as good the first time as the last. Demand to stay on the phone until they can get someone to speak to you to tell you what is going on. They are professional enough that they would not stoop to doing anything unacceptable to your bike if you are complaining about a genuine lack of service and communication. Just stay on the phone or go to them and wait until you get an answer.....

  14. Agree with Jolley, they would definately not do anything to your bike, they are ultimately a good bunch, I have to say I have used JHP since day one, even though I bought my bike from Wolverhampton, however feed back can be slow. I was waiting some months to get my bike serviced( they very kindly pick up for free) but eventually had to give up. I have been v impressed with them and would not have a bad word said, however I have had to move on now.....possibly a victim of their own success

  15. I don't doubt the service, as I have usually been well looked after in the front store section.
Maybe they have taken on too much bikes.

  16. My bike is now ready, how ever it's a bill for nearly 400 :( 1st annual service

  17. Maybe they look after regular customers but have to say my experience was very poor - they seem to think that if you are a Ducati owner then cost should not matter to you. I would not recommend them to anyone.

  18. Did they quote a price before the work? £400 sounds really high for an annual

  19. 400 for first annual service!! You may as well remove your belt and pull down your trousers now

  20. How many miles covered is important and what was done in that 400?
