  6. Bought an R6 today, just to hoon around on track days. 1 owner, 7.5k miles, totally standard - looks newer than my 16 plate Duc, and its 11 years old. Always a bit nervous of doing something untoward on the Monster 1200R on the track. There're getting on well in the garage already :upyeah:

  7. I read an interesting article on bikes hitting birds (crows) today :-

The Highways Agency found over 200 dead crows on the M4 near Bridgend recently, and there was concern that they may have died from Avian Flu. A Pathologist examined the remains of all the crows, and, to everyone's relief, confirmed the problem was NOT Avian Flu. The cause of death appeared to be from vehicular impacts. However, during analysis it was noted that varying colours of paints appeared on the ...bird's beaks and claws. By analysing these paint residues it was found that 98% of the crows had been killed by impact with motorbikes, while only 2% were killed by cars.

The Agency then hired an Ornithological Behaviourist to determine if there was a cause for the disproportionate percentages of motorbike kills versus car kills. The Ornithological Behaviourist quickly concluded that when crows eat road kill, they always have a look-out crow to warn of danger. They discovered that while all the lookout crows could shout "Cah", not a single one could shout "bike"

  9. After a few challenging days, took the bull by the horns and joined in a treasure hunt around Wiltshire with a theme of bridges. Managed about 100 miles in a team of 4 on some great knarly roads and had a good laugh at some of the clues. Full marks to the two ladies who did the organising. Sure we won't win anything but had a great day out and more importantly did something normal. Seeing the heart specialist on Thursday so fingers crossed. Andy

  11. Out cycling today. Did 51 miles with a break at 22 miles for coffee at a cafe in Godney. Quite a hill up out of Wells on the way back taking a lane rather than main road. I am totally sold on Carbon frames, it seems to pedal itself at times. Salt beef for dinner, delicious!

  13. WP_20160814_10_04_01_Pro.jpg WP_20160814_10_03_43_Pro.jpg today I got up early and set about finding what the chirping noise coming from the ss was. Had my suspicions that it was the bearing on the pressure plate and it turned out it was. Had a new plate with bearing from the 1098 so 20 mins later all good!
    gotta love a dry clutch..
while at it I took her clothes off and give her a good clean. Trip to the ace then motogp then pub... Great day... Apart from dem r1 wankers at the ace... What a bunch of cunts...

  18. Waited in all day for the electric meter man - appointment slot between 10am and 2pm - he came at 4pm.
Last month they charged me £120 for electric (normally £20 this time of year as the previous month) thought he was coming to investigate - he just had to change the meter on his job card
They have booked another appointment to change to a smart meter in a week or two - they emailed me about this last week
He said he could have fitted that today
He has known where he has fitted a replacement for them to re send him the next day to fit a smart meter! :Rage:
Not sure what this months bill will be but they will still take the money from my account even if it's £1Billion
:Writing: (I don't have a billion in the account):mad::mad:
Will be checking the new usage after 24 hours

  20. We got a sudden bill for £350 from EDF. No usage readings were provided and we couldn't work out how they'd come to that figure. After asking them to provide proof, they simply re-sent the bill that showed no readings. 3 years later we still haven't paid it and they still can't provide proof. We've moved house since and received another bill last week asking us to pay it. Still no proof so still not paying [emoji6]

    Cheeky, cheating swine!
