Sycamore Ducati in Uppingham, Rutland are closing their doors to Ducati. All stock, bikes, parts in fact everything is being sold at cost price from today.
I don't know sorry. give them a call, I had a email for the boss today as I know him and he asked me to spread the word. they have a lot of bike on their website.
If they are keeping the Hardly Capable franchise, which is their core business, i would imagine the recession has taken it's toll on the Ducati side.
My email just said they are parting company over the next 3 months and bikes and parts at cost. I got the email at 12.20 today, I think I was one of the first to be told, as I was told they had not informed their customers etc yet.
Thats a shame to hear. I hope they can ride the storm and stay in business in one form or another. Too far away for me to go have a have a look, shame
its hardly surprising, they made a very poor attempt to sell ducati bikes or gear, largely ignoring customers in the ducati zone
Thanks for putting up Betty. after some discussions with a very helpful lady at Sycamore, the I have some nice stuff on its way to me ( hopefully)!! TT
So I wasn't the only one....I've been in there 4 times and not once was I approached by a member of staff and greeted. Very poor custom service in my personal experience/opinion.
I popped in today, knocking 10% off new bikes, advertised Panigale £14995 for £13495. About £160 off Ducati helmets ( upto 40% ) and some of the leather jackets were half price. Everything must go and got loads of new bikes so I would think open to offers. Didn't admit why everthing at cost, said just having a clear out... shame to see them go..
It's only the ducati side that's closing , spoke to a chap there yesterday. put simply the ducati franchise side isn't paying for itself and they make so little margin on the newer bikes theyd rather cut it loose and stick with the Harley stuff etc
