New Here Today Buying An 1198s

Discussion in 'Newbies Hangout' started by Robnobrakes, Aug 17, 2016.

  1. This is my second Ducati. I sold my '94 900SS a few months ago and instantly regretted it. I've bought this 2010 1198s with full Termignoli exhaust. The bike is currently being serviced and prepped by the sellers Hyside Motorcycles in Romford. The silly short levers are being replaced with stock levers.

I hope to collect it this coming Saturday.

Dealer photos, sorry about the quality ;)

  3. Haha welcome! :) I sent this very bike link to my mate the other week as I was saying how clean it is! Is it the one that has 15k miles on it? If so it looks spot on! All the best

  8. I'm impressed with Hyside Motorcycles. They are doing everything I asked to accommodate me. Full service, shims check and adjust, new belts, new brake and clutch fluid, replacing shorty levers with stock levers, checking battery and renewing if not up to spec. MOT. Even supplying a C spanner FOC for chain adjustment. 6 months warranty. Sorted I hope :)

  9. Ordered these carbon fibre side panels (Ebay) to replace the stock plastic panels. Here's hoping for a good fit.

  11. Hello and welcome. Congrats for the bike. I had an 848 before my current bike, a 998S and always thought these bikes look best in that colour...:upyeah:

Hope the bike doesn't have much carbon fibre on it as those under seat panels will stand out like a sore thumb with that weave.

  12. Welcome david

  13. Only the front mudguard and rear hugger are carbon fibre.

  14. :)

  15. I pick up the bike tomorrow :)

  16. Rode home in the rain, amid V Festival traffic. I've had better 1st rides... The levers and pegs were immediately adjusted to suit me and the carbon fibre side panels fitted :)
