When I bought my 750 it always lent over a long way on the side stand so always put a piece of wood under it, but my 400 was always fine. So took off the two stands and found the 750 stand was10mm shorter than the 400. Any one else had this problem? Also one bike has Allen bolts and the other has 17mm bolts, which are correct? Photo of the solution attached as the stands are alloy and we can't weld that at work.
Mine is done in a similar way Paul, but you can't see the foot extension fixing bolt on mine....the footplate is galv. steel as well.
Mine is adjustable, too........I can add shaped 3mm thick ally plates between the steel footplate and the original stand worn end.......That way I can compensate for however I set up the front suspension fork legs in the yoke.
Thanks to you both. My welders at work did the mod, they could have welded it but we're not set up for it. The main thing is I don't have to carry that bit of wood around now.
