Anything is for sale if the price is right, but if selling I'd rather the R6 went with it as a pair. They are hard to value but with second hand values of 4XV's touching £7 to £9K asking prices for low mile examples it might be wise to hang on a while I guess. There will be less new R1's for sale than some sought after Ducati models as some people buy the Ducati's to mothball. The last and only other new R1 4XV I saw for sale was imported from Japan by Bridge Motors but with not really any provenance about 5 years ago. Some one somewhere will want a new R1 and R6 in their collection - but I am certainly not advertising them for sale currently
I'm definitely holding on to my 4xv though it's done 24k and been modded a bit but I still love the old girl.
I have a Silver and Matt Black 5PW on the road along with the SFS at the moment (the best looking R1 )
4xv prices have gone mental , i think someone has been a tad dodgy on ebay and upped the price , personally i wouldn't pay more than 3k for a standard 4xv with 2k on the clock but some people seem to have money to burn ! saw a none standard 4xv for sale for 1.5k on the road & running but you don't know what it's truely like until you start playing with it . The 5jj's have a better midrange
i thought all r1's were imported from japan at some point? mine was made in japan for sure. dont understand people being fussy about so called non official uk bikes??? all ducati's are made in italy for example so why does it matter which country's dealer was it first sold through?
Was imported by Bridge Motors from Japan about 5 years ago if you read my sentence correctly. I wasn't insinuating it was worth any less? In fact the had it on offer at £13K and it was only for sale for around 3 weeks. Some imports such as Japanese models don't convert on the clocks to mph though
this thread reminded me that i need to buy some bits for my 4xv. just emailed my dealer, i wonder if they still do part for it???
