Hi, I'm planning installation of either a Garmin 590LM sat nav or an iPhone on to my 848. I'll probably go with the Garmin. Could you guys post pictures of your setups please? I'm keen to see what they look like on the bike. The two mounts that look good to me based on my research are the following but I've seen very few pictures of the equipment actually installed on the bike with a Garmin or Phone in place. This works well for me; its position is static unlike the stem nut & bar mounts. Its from telferizer.
Bob Telfer mentioned this steering damper mount to me. Unfortunately the steering damper i have is not ohlins and does not have a bolt to connect to Looks like a great solution. He said he could provide a mount to replace one of the two bolts either side of the ignition key. Im worried that this might be a bad idea since the bolt is quite narrow and the mount would have to be relatively tall.
Ah im looking on a phone so hard to see. Will fire up the laptop. Bob told me about this! Is it sturdy enough to hold a big garmin sat nav do you think? It seems like a very narrow bolt for the height. I was worried it would put a lot of pressure on the key mount and would maybe wobble and bend/break.
Its very sturdy; no problems with it at all. I have only used it with the iphone holder; don't have a Garmin.
