Running very lean . The blocking air filter box off and it still runs maybe telling a tale . My test plan for running lean . Test fuel rail pressure . Measure injection duration opening time .Injection duration is the end product of all the fuel control sensors on the engine if this is correct you have just confirmed all other sensors are correct . Inlet manifold air leaks ..... I use this . Superb bit of kit , modified by me to pressurise up to 30 psi , just look for the smoke
Correct , but a standard one pressurises up to around 1/2 a psi ....not enough in some cases . Boost pipes , turbo intercoolers , plastic inlet manifolds , egr valves lifting under boost conditions ( more for car use diesel and petrol obviously ) need more pressure to high light the fault so I modded it with a compressor pressure regulator
Still heard nothing. I've spent a few days camping in Scotland with the family and seeing more bmw's than I could count has made me wish I'd bought one of those. And for the record I didn't see a single Ducati, not even a multistrada #felloutoflove
Is there anyone on the forum that knows how I can get out of the bike finance. I simply don't want anything to do with Ducati anymore.
No one has come back to you yet then? I'd say go to ducati uk... Do you still have the courtesy bike? Sent from my SM-N9005 using Tapatalk
Yes I still have the courtesy bike. But feel my problem lies with Ducati Italy rather than the dealer. Although they haven't exactly kept me in the loop.
Not much they can do about that. Italy has public holidays this time of year and everything shuts down I'm afraid. I used to live and work in Verona... This was the highlight of the year.
If you call the finance company they will get involved and apply some pressure to the dealer. At best they'll hold your payments for you I suspect. Once you've got the bike back I think you'll feel ok. The only reliable bikes these days are Jap, Bmw have theirs own issues and from what I hear their after sales and service departments suck ass like you wouldn't believe.
Another Snowcat case I reckon? Yes it is a worldwide product but with Italian standards for which Ducatisti feel pride of. That includes effectively, Italian way of dealing with issues. Yes, they really close the whole thing on summer! no chance to get them to work. The Ducati experience can be like that I agree with you, it don't serve well the excitement and riding their products give. Because that lack of response creates more frustration than anything.
closing for August is spread throughout Europe. Not sure it's a good thing or not. For the employees, it gives them time away from work and to get away with their families. For the customers, not so great. but if everyone does it...
I was born in the American continent and now in Europe and from that perspective the quality of life is better here because of things like that. In some American countries vacations are way less, work work work yes customer service, be there any time, reply to me, serve me, faster, faster, now, want it now, more now..... there is people behind those services and jobs too, do think it is positive in some places they can have real vacations even if me as customer suffer. Having said this I do support the poster as to put pressure on the network to get a decent reply, now it has been some time! I hope all parties keep it open and not mix things to get all sorted out (recalling the Snowcat incident).
Called the dealer today to get the latest as its been over two weeks since I last spoke to them. Got the new service manager, explained who I am and the situation "I don't know exactly what's happening so I'll talk the the workshop and call you straight back" Over two hours later I've heard nothing.
Had a look for a Ducati telephone number. They don't like making those available do they. Had a Google and there was a number listed on this very forum so I thought I'd give it a try. Asked for the top man (i did give his name, but it escapes me now) apparently he was busy with MotoGP lol. I did manage to get hold of the head of uk marketing, explained my position and frustration with both Ducati and now the dealer. She took my details and she too has promised to look into it. I'll keep you posted.
And for the record, it's now just over four hours since the service manager at the dealer was going to call me 'straight back' I laughed and thought what a knob when I saw all the snowcat videos on you tube. But I'm beginning to feel the guys pain!! I'd post videos of me ranting and raving, but you guys would only laugh at my Norfolk accent!!
