Mirrors on my 2003 900ss are crap rhs one droops so it is always out of alignment they both look naf anybody have any good ideas for something that will bolt onto stock mounting locations that look better integrated indicators would be a bonus - stock indicators are also on the naf side
If the IE mirrors have similar 'adjustment' fixings and they are similar material to the carbed SS mirrors, you can probably improve the droop problem.........have a look at the mirror stem and the adjustment screw........can the stem be tapped to take a decent set screw? Mine stay where I put them, even though they are easy to adjust when riding...........
Try Googling "Moto-Science" I think that's the name???? I found it......Moto-Science : The Ducati Mirrors Specialist - Home
My SS dug its stand into earth and toppled, so i had to replace the mirror. At that time, they did an identical mirror in Halfords, so I got one of those. Identical except the ball and socket were made from plastic rather than metal. The plastic always moved and drooped, I wonder if you have one of those??
yes dave nice stuff and priced axccordingly, suspect I am going to have to bite the bullet and buy these
I wish they were but constraints of garage space mirros have to be folded in to get bike in and out gluing them in position possibly not the right option and I basically don't like them or the cheap indicators and want a better solution to both problems not 100% happy with a $250 solution either
unscrew the mirrors, buy a Carby ss and screw em to that... The mirrors will still suck but the bike will be vastly improved... probably not helpful.... Sorry....:Bag:
With similar space constraints, I've gone with some Suzuki mirrors (is that heresy?) - from a GSXF I think. They retract nicely (click-stop), are a bit wider (see less of your elbows), are adjustable on the move, and hold position. Their mounting centres are closer than Ducati's, but a simple 6mm alloy adaptor plate sorts that. Sent from my P01M using Tapatalk
Yep, no problem. Got to do the domestic stuff at moment, but will sort something out tonight. Sent from my P01M using Tapatalk
On my 999, I have an Oberon Streetfighter bar end mirror on the right side in order to supplement the oem mirrors. The oem mirrors leave a blind spot directly behind and the Oberon fills that in beautifully. They do them in two sizes and I have the smaller. It is very neat and discreet and sits over your little finger, so barely adds to the width of the bike at all. Highly recommended.
I'm thinking of doin away with the s's mirrors and going bar end. Have done on the 748 and find em pretty good and i like the look. Still yet to find mirror blanks so might get some made.
I removed the self tapping screw and threaded the mount 5mm used a cap head screw to reassemble this fixes the drooping problem.
