In your pics, the locating ring is the dark dirty line raised part of the casting between the brake disc centre I/D and the speedo drive grease seal which I can see in the housing.
Speedo drive from ebay link on its way, thanks for that. I have some engine mounting bolts coming to from ebay as well. if you dont mind, could you answer or point me in the right direction. I presume there must be spacers between engine and frame where mounting bolts go, not seen any on ebay yet! would you no the size's of them, also would you no the thread pitch and size for the stem bolt that holds top yoke. ie M12 1.25 etc. thanks for your time
As far as I am aware there are no spacers between engine and frame.......certainly none on mine and none shown the parts manual. Stem bolt that holds top yoke..........Workshop manual states 'Fork nut : 20x1' and also 'Fork bolt: 10x1.5'.......the latter will be the top yoke pinch bolt sizes. The Fork Nut, I assume is the one you mean...........Parts Manual calls it 'Cap'. It has hex head 25mm across flats and a tapered flange 38mm diameter......a washer sits between that flange and the yoke.
One part has so many different names, thats three for one bolt. When i had engine in the frame as a dry run and to see what bits i think are missing, there is gaps between engine and frame. I note you talk about a parts manual, is this a download or paper version. and where could i get one, personally I prefer books to downloads. Then I wouldn't have to keep asking question and feel i'm wasting people's time. Thank you.
I used to be able to let you download them from my website, but I have closed that down...............but they are available if you do Google searches.
