Has to be the thou, Ian. A Senna thou should do it, killing both birds etc. They go for hardly any more money, if you hang around. They are faster and if I am correct, lighter by a touch too, the headlight is about 500gm lighter, the clocks about 300gm lighter. I might be wrong but I don't think you get the white clocks and plastic headlight on the 900. Anybody? Oh, and double spark is not to be sniffed at innit. I would have said the best condition for the money etc until I went on a Monster 796 this week, hoping it was the right size for me, as my 1100 sometimes feels too powerful. it simply did not have the bollocks required.
That would be my choice too....very rare in UK too. I viewed one after waiting a year and it was rough. Too rough for 3 and a half grand. It was this one: I was not aware fuelling changed from 2000 to 2002? What was it, different injectors? I have been so happy with the fuelling on mine.
Yeah, its been on here before a couple months ago. Still not sold. dealer gets mixed reviews tbh. Is that the best one to get, theres a grey frame one for a grand less on fleabay. Whats the difference...apart from colour!?
No difference....I heard a story that the red frame ones were actually for the USA but as sales dipped, a dozen or so made it to the UK.
The fueling low down/neutral throttle on my 900 is crap and a couple of other owners have said the same. I have high level cans/k+n/open air box/pc3. Also vibrates more than my 907. I always thought the 16M ecu was under developed.
That bike was bought by the dealer from a bloke in Dundee for £3k or less. I know because I was going to buy it for the 2nd time and when I got in touch to ask about it he said it was sold...he had offered it to me for £3k. The 1000ss is a special bike in my opinion, red frame or not they are great fun when you get them out on a good road..not meant for small roads and towns. I'm just going out on mine as the weather is looking fine. Thinking about a 749S to add to the garage. Anyone had one?
I've got a 1000ss and a 749s. The 749 is a more sporty looking bike but I think the 1000ss is a better all round. Not much difference in performance. Even though the 749 has more BHP it lacks the torque of the SS. You can ride an SS all day and feel fine but the 749 will turn you into a wreck after a few miles as the bike is physically smaller and more cramped , mind you I'm 6ft4 and not really designed to fit on any sort of bike! Lol! Like the 1000ss the 749s is a good investment bike, itll never loose value.
Not wanting to piss on a bonfire. But....a Senna DS went with the sameish miles on Facebook in Scotland this year with an asking price of £2600. Someone on here got it. The ie values are not at all predictable like the carby. I reckon you have a chance of getting £4500 for it but you would need a sunny day with a back wind etc. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Id be fairly confident. One went at my local dealer last year slightly higher mileage not quite as immaculate as mine for £4500. The dealer even offered me £4k for mine just to buy it no px involved, so there must be some confidence in the market.
I remember seeing that bike at £2600. With no offence to the seller, he gave it away. If it was as good as it looked he could have got a lot more. The chap who bought it got a real bargain.
I wonder how much mine's worth...£1300 in PX against an Africa Twin. I said I'd look for the deposit elsewhere.
