hi guys couple of days ago got very hot after being stuck in traffic in london. temp were showing HIGH. after stopping i could hear rad boiling and some fluid come out. so looks like coolant probably got low? planning to sort it over the weekend, done some searches on the net and looks like it is not as simple as it should be? anyone got any tips? also - do i use blue or pink coolant or does it not matter? i have some blue one on the shelve in my garage which been open for a while , would it still be OK? been open for couple of years now
strangely enough bike just been for annual service 3 weeks ago. do you think dealer should have checked coolant level as a part of the service or not?
I know when i worked at Porsche any car that came through had lights/levels check and then a general health check of the car to see if anything needed attention. I wouldn't have thought it would of been different for bikes, so i would have assumed they should of checked this? Did you get a service sheet showing what had been checked and their intervals for checking?
Maybe the dealer replaced the coolant but got an airlock, so it appeared full when it wasn't. Can't imagine that coolant will deteriorate in any significant way like brake fluid would. Can you tell what colour the coolant is in the bike ?
