1200 Enduro Any Good Versus Standard Dvt

Discussion in 'Multistrada' started by SiRich, Aug 22, 2016.

  1. Just wondered what people think of the new enduro and how it rides versus an S model DVT? How does the seat comfort and seat height compare, I found the standard DVT a nutcrusher ?

    Many Thanks in advance

  2. I've never sat or used another duke as yet. But I'm finally getting my remaining enduro package fitted this wednesday so doing a thread on the 1200enduro will be eminating at somepoint.. It's a fast/heavy/dominating machine with steady riding provided me with over 400+miles tank range before self-engaging clutch & drifting too the side of the road. As always I carry a 2Litre fuel can in the insulated top-case for myself & fellow bikers that might have landed themselves into a fuel shortage.

It's got all the features you'd want, colour display, abs corning & corning lights. Amazing full beam moth killing weapon. Electronic suspension for different loading scenarios & plenty of power to buzz sports bikers or get way above 100mph in quick step (on a closed road away from the public highway).

Just don't scrub the wheel hubs with a scouring pad, don't touch the display until its been covered with a plastic dash screen-saver thingie which you can get off amazon. The standard seat needed an airhawk cushion for me too do big miles & invest in a navihalter mount for a gps imho. The only remaining thing to be slapped on my bike is the race-exhaust which should be next month by all intense & purposes.

You will be hassled politely by biker-envy if you get one ;)

  3. Sounds good, interested in how it compares as standard DVT, as that is the only one I've tried

  4. I agree about the seat position.
The standard DVT tips you forward onto your brazil nuts, but the comfort seat is a huge (but expensive) improvement.

I thought the seat on the Enduro was massive improvement, it's a different design, but is not interchangeable. The main issue is the bike is physically a lot larger, wider and heavier, if you are a big lad then that would be an issue.

  5. I ride a 2012s Touring and had a long test ride the Enduro. My 1200s has a decat pipe, the Ohlins electronic suspension and the Ohlins semi active SCU so the ride of the Enduro with Skyhook and the larger front wheel was not as good. The DVT mph for mph revs higher than the my 1200s, about 600 rpm at 30mph. My bike is very road focussed so would never compete equally with the Enduro, nor do I want it to but IMO the Enduro couldn't compete against my 1200s on the road. End result ...... I'm still enjoying my 1200s. Andy

  6. I must be in the minority but I just don't like the looks of the enduro, and in an actual off road scenario I don't think it would match a GS. But having said that, I haven't had a go on one yet but then again I don't have the urge to, that's how unappealing I find the looks.
p.s. I think the DVT is better looking than the 13 Multi.

  7. Cheers for all the replies. If I'm honest the main reason I wanted an enduring was i hate that standard seat on the 'normal' DVT, it was sheer torture on the old Crown Jewels so much I couldn't risk a purchase in 2015.

Need to have a think, I really want a DVT for that engine. But, I'm also worried about residuals and reliability, I think Ducati might be losing some respect in the marketplace with this model. shame as I know these bikes rock, I had one in 2012.

No standard heated grips on a 16k bike, WTF!

  8. The Enduro ride is as good/better than the DVT but it needs setting up. I found it comfortable enough to test it for 3 hours, and exchange my DVT for it.

  9. 1200s just needs the Touratech seat to make it so much more comfortable. Work it into a deal you negotiate.

  10. Thanks yep i think that could be the way to go, I'm not sure about the enduro and would be paying a premium just to avoid the standard bikes seat.

  11. I was in Pro twins during the week, they have a used enduro with 700 miles includes all 3 boxes.. The guy that bought it was too short...

  12. It was looking at an Enduro yesterday. By Christ they're a big lump

  13. Test rode the two back-to-back - writeup here: Low-Flying Bastards: The Ducati Road Show | Ducati Diary

On both machines I was thinking comfort seat thoughts although the Enduro seemed to tip forward less than the DVT. But was on each bike for no more than an hour, so can't really make a call on that aspect.

  14. Hi have you had the race exhaust fitted yet? If so any good (looks, sound performance etc..)

  15. Should be arriving next week & then off to be ceramically coated before adding/tweaking/photo hoaring my bike.
