Chaps im toying with the idea of a new pet project selling carefully sourced and prepared original equipment parts... Ill be putting a catalogue together in the next couple of weeks but from your perspective whats really important when diligencing used parts and buying them
fair enough although he sets his bar quite low!! should i invest in a parts washer.... ill likely be holding fair stocks of metal stuff like cams, heads, geartrain and engine parts etc.
Don't trade via ebay as it's full of idiots for sellers instead trade on known forums, pay for advertising and deliver a quality service and the £'s will roll in
Just be upfront and honest. I have a similar pet project with a box load of parts I have amassed over the years that I sell through a modest little online shop. It is never going to earn me a fortune but I like the fact that some of the quirkier parts might just help someone out with their rebuild or restoration. (Ricambi Moto in case you want to take a look!
Is the correct answer. Don't ever over promise. Under promise and over deliver and you won't go far wrong
That online shop is great. Is it expensive to get it payment enabled? I don't want to go down the merchant route and paypal is expensive
I'd go with this approach or align myself with niche brands / models and pay to advertise through forums like this one. You are screwed on ebay if you pick up negative feedback which is a distinct possibility with some of the eejits I've had dealings with this year.
