  2. Oh, and of course the 998 was only a mule for the 999 stallion :)

  3. Votes say 748/9*6/998R are the top dogs. The people have spoken. No room for a post Brexit vote here. Take it on the chin. Move on.

  4. I'm bored... Zzzzz zzZZ zzzz
Off to play with Natalie Lowe! Or should that be Nora B...

Oh and my parting shot! I seem to remember an all time worlds top 10 of the best bikes as voted by the worlds press.. Number 1 was the Honda Cub..
    Number 2 was the 916/955/998/748/996-bi po/mono-posta/e/s/Sps/rep/r/etc etc...

Can't remember a 999 being in that list... But each to their own.. Fortunately we live in a democracy after all...

    X .

  5. The 999 was way ahead until some underhanded voting remember :Wideyed: then after the event you wanted a different result and waited weeks until your dastardly plan was hatched :Shifty:
And oh look, up you two pop again to gloat, well you have just made yourselves look :Bucktooth::Bucktooth: haven't you.

    The end :Angelic:

  6. That was in 2001 when the Cub beat you :)

  7. I voted 749R...

  13. well, I've ridden both and they really do rock.

The tech on a 2004 749R race bike is the same as a year 2000 996RS. The 999RS has been said to be the last real superbike. It's so special. But hey, if you're just going on looks...

  14. I got one now (a WTF) from Exige of all people

  17. 749R

I would like to own a 998R but they are going for more than a 1098R or a 999R. Both I consider superior bikes.

  18. I don't get the 998r. Is it so different to a 996r? To me, just in my opinion, the 996r is superior. The motor was hand made - really special

  19. All the motors are hand assembled.

Ducati just finish the cranks off, that's if I remember correctly from the factory tour. I think the r bikes had their Own production line. The 998R engine is the smoother of the two from what I have been told. Also I prefer the tail on the 998R.

I agree though both bikes are nice but if they were all the same price and easily available I think a late 2006 999R would be my bike of choice.

  20. I would go for 996R over 998R. Bayliss/2001wsb linage plus spares availability possibly better as same bore/stroke as 998/999.
Facelift 999R/Xerox would be 1st choice tho.
