New guy (obviously), doing my due diligence and making my intro post to make sure I get off on the right foot around here. I have been sniffing around here for the last 6 months or so, trying to figure out if I wanted to make the leap to Ducati. I have always been a dyed in the wool Honda guy, so this has been a leap of faith.... Although I read all of the horror stories concerning the limp mode issues with the 2016 Hypermotard.....I pulled the trigger anyway...what could possibly go wrong? I laid down my cash and purchased a 2016 939 SP today...I bought it with the Termi kit being installed by the dealer. Should be able to pick it up in the next week or so. There were a couple things after I signed the paperwork (of course) that I was a little miffed about. 1.) Can't get a service manual? WTF? never heard of such a thing....I definitely let them know I was NOT happy already. 2.) Have to go to the dealer to get the check engine light turned off....totally not happy about this one. I'm hoping the performance of the machine makes up for my above frustrations.....I'm pretty sure it will. Thanks for reading my initial rant, hahahahahahaha....I will get off my soapbox and allow regular programming to resume.

Ill initially say "welcome to the club" - but I must confess I do seem to see problems with the newer/new bikes but that might just be my take on it....I made the jump myself 4 years back - ive had 3 hypermotards now and all of them have been trouble free but they've all been air cooled lumps though...they do grow on you....my first one was, like you the leap of faith (1100s), I sold it as I was still 50/50 and on the fence....the second one came as a result of writing off a friends bike, that was an expensive day. (1100evo) - long story....sold that one as I got good money for it and I was hankering after a z1ooo which I still own....and then realizing that I really missed the evo - talked the wife into getting an evo sp and now I love it....don't think this one'll be going any time soon...
