  1. Yeah, soapy water does the trick, but hair spray really 'sticks' them on well (no rotation slip at all) and simples to remove when the need arrises

  2. It would appear with "Extra Hold" you have to work "Extra Quick" :)

  3. Just bought a pair for my Monster, I'll try the hairspray trick. Hadn't heard of that before.

How long have you got after spraying to get them in position.

I used neat Fairy Liquid before....but don't try riding it for at least 24hrs, otherwise the grip just slides around. I found out the hard/slippery way.

  4. I removed the end bars, sprayed in the grip and got three quarters of the way then sprayed a little more on the OEM grip to slide it on completely. I guess it depends on the strength of the hairspray ;)

  5. I used soapy water and it worked well. Have had no problems with slip.

  6. I took mine off, it was more painful with them on :(

  7. When you put your gloves on fasten them as normal but then loosen the fasteners a little before riding off. tight gloves restrict circulation........just dont over loosen them.

  8. I've had similar problems before on my throttle hand (more so braking hand) I tilted my lever slightly more downward to result in a more aligned wrist instead of constantly extending upward to use the brake.

  9. I'd agree - reach for the brake leave then put pressure on inside of thumb joint. Already got adjustable levers but might try bringing them closer

  10. I slid the Grip Puppies on yesterday. I used the hair spray trick and found it much easier than soapy water.

    1. Spray inside the Puppy.
    2. Spray the original handlebar grip, top bottom & sides.
    3. Wriggle on the Puppy in an open and closed throttle type motion. Simples.

No need to take off bar ends.

Haven't ridden it yet so don't know if it slips but expect it to be better than the soapy route.

Who the hell thought of hair spray as a lube and why? But it works.

  11. hey @Sam1199

I can't claim to coming up with the idea, but I used it way back in the early 80's on my first bikes, so the method was already around then. I'm guessing it was before mainstream lube sprays like were available, but hairspray was sold everywhere
