  2. Here's a pic of mine with a full termi system, r&g tail tidy and evotech guards. You'll have to study the picture really hard because it's stuck out the back not running where it's been for bloody weeks!!!

  3. I just brought new the 939 SP Hypermotard. test rode the 939 and then ordered the SP. I pick up the bike on Friday before long weekend in August and covered 604m to get the first service completed and the full term's fitted. It runs like a piece of crap, it pops and bangs on downshifts, it coughs and splutters when causing at a constant speed, especially around 3/4000 rpm, that is in traffic even at 6/7000 RPM you can still hear/feel the slight cough and splatter. I have taken it back to the dealer and i'm getting this crap about Euro 4 emissions, i ask why the demo bike ran perfectly?? to no answer. I brought the bike and did the miles as Tuesday 6th I'm off around Switzerland/Germany briefly then Italy for a total of to weeks.

Any idea what needs to be done to sort out? I assume engine tuning, mapping??

    Anyone experienced a similar problem

  4. Similar to daddy2coulls problem. Check out his thread.

  5. So, are all 939's like this..?

  6. Mine isn't. 2000 miles covered and nothing wrong.

  7. Wow what caused that? Loose chain or did it drop a link?!

  8. I can only guess that the chain was loose and on acceleration slipping till it eventually came off and caused the damage to the crank case. The chain is broken. Not sure if the chain was damaged first causing it to slip and then come off.

  9. How much slack were you running?

  10. They have taken mine to the Ducati uk headquarters at silverstone to repair as both Italy and the dealer have no idea. I'm promised that it will be repaired by the 9th of September (after reporting the same issues as you on 15th July) as soon as I hear anything I'll be sure to post on here for you.

  11. Thank you, I heard all the stories this morning from the dealer,
    1. The termi pipes etc need to carbon up a bit to get the gasses flowing better,
    2. Reset the key maps, can take a few times before it runs well
    3. This is a sports bike, can not ride at a constant speed, makes it worse with termi's, really? but when the sales pitch is it's awesome will be great you'll love it!!!! no mention of the so called common problems
    4. Has flyby wire throttle more sensitive than cable
When I asked about the 939 demo bike how that rode really nice they were surprised. What a croc of Sh*t.

Also the Termi's you fitted can you post a picture of your brackets supplied with the kit, the carbon shield, the pipe heat deflector (mine fouls against the frame the frame and is marked now) and then your seat gap to the tank. This is mine, the seat gap I noticed straight away when I collected the bike as I did not notice this much gap previously, and the pictures I have although not specifically of the seat would suggest the same

  12. atm it (to me) seems to be screaming a software problem....as some are ok and the ones that aren't, are the same....had the seat fitting problems with both my 1100's but not the evo sp I have now as the rear end is all custom so its been made to fit correctly...

  13. Your Carbon guard fits better than mine. I feel my brackets were welded on in the wrong place.

I think my seat gap is bad, but not as bad as yours. I fitted the DP low seat and the gap was no different.

The heat shield for the horizontal cylinder, is it possible that yours is fitted upside down? From memory they are shaped. But it wouldn't surprise my if your bracket it welded in the wrong place.

Excuses lol, mine were the opposite, when the dealer spoke to Italy it was suggested that I fit the DP system to overcome the fuelling. I'd fitted it 300 miles previous!! Then I was asked if I'd just not noticed the fault and it had always been like it. My dealer did agree that my bike was dangerous to ride at lower speeds, however, I didn't get this in writing.

Unfortunately I can take any pics as the bike hasn't been in my possession for over 5 weeks now.

  14. I agree with the software problem, will see what they say today.

That fitting is terrible, I know it's welded spigot thingy's that the shield mounts to but seriously that's a joke.

Sorry don't mean to be so harsh

  15. Its a shame really - as much as I love my 1100 id like to see someone take one of these things - stick the finger to the warranty, throw some cash at it and get it running as it should....one side of me says that and then the sensible side says "you should'nt have to throw a couple of k at a bike that already cost more than a good sized family car..." to get the fucking thing running as it should!

  16. your right in saying that, why can'y they get it right, I know BSD (they are awesome) have used them for my S2R1000 with full arrows, the bike ran like a dream, sold it recently I almost cried. BSD would charge around £500 to set the thing up properly?? Would be extremely pis55ed if this was the only solution.

  17. Well, yes, and no.....yes, pissed off that id paid that amount of coin for something that needed "to be sorted out!" but not cos if it was say for example a euro 4 thing then the big D are only building to a framework (euro4) which they cant do anything about...

But then to add another angle to it - if it was me and I was buying a brand new bike - my first thought would be get the pipe off, full system, air filter, get it over to CJS - id factor those expenses in right from the word go....which is what I did with my z1ooo - I got it essentially with 18 months left on the warranty but that was irrelevant as to get it running "how it should" the warranty would go up in smoke. The flip side is ive had 18months of trouble free and very fun biking on it...warranty runs out this month ironically...

  18. I'm happy to get it 'sorted' by an outside company. But I'd want it running as it should first!!
