So where have you been since Ducatisti went off-line?

  1. I'm been making an effort to get more involved with the local bike scene down here as I've been a bit billy-no-mates-on-a-bike since andyrh sold his 749 and gave up biking. If the weather is good I'll be doing a ride-out with South West Bikers this Sunday. However they are mostly Exeter-based and the Taunton biker scene has taken a bit of a hit in the last year as the local biker-hang-out road-side cafe got closed down when they built the new park-and-ride to the South of the town. I've had a couple of ride-outs with the Vintage Japanese Motorcycle Club and Devon and Somerset Advanced Riders. They were both good fun but a little too niche to satisfy my bread-and-butter biking requirements.

So, if any of you are in the Somerset area - give me a shout!

Ducati-wise I'm registered on all the other forums from back in the day - and I stuck my nose into them all to take a peek but they weren't for me - they all felt like a step backwards after Ducatisti. I realy hope this will be a step forwards coz Ducatisti won't be coming back. I bumped into Dan a month or so ago and he is so busy with his new family and had got so f*cked off by the hassle of eejits on the forum and constant threats of legal action that he was getting from people and dealers disgruntled at what others had said that he was adamant that he wouldn't open it up again. He might do something with it in the future but it won't be a forum he said.

  2. Mostly been on .ms?

Good to have a UK forum tho, feels like home. :)

Am in Trowbridge, Wiltshire, approx 62miles?

  3. In hospital over Christmas / New Year.....well for a few days anyway......

    AL

  4. Forgot to mention - I also joined the DOC

Haven't been able to post on their forum because they only give you the password with the first copy of their magazine when they send it (seems a bit of an old-fashioned approach - doesn't bode well) .... maybe I won't feel the need to now that this forum is up and running :D

  5. Wandering in the ether.......

  6. I have popped in to ISC a few times
Returned to work 1st Jan after 28 weeks yippee.
Still loving all things ducati missing Dizzy
Played lots of bejewelled as no Ducatisti
And... Helped loads of people to use self scan properly ;-) to rehabilitate into work place

  7. Ive been lurking around other ducati forums but nothing really filled the ducatisti gap. But now im feeling positve this forum will be its replacement as alot of the ducatisti guys have joined already.

If ducatisti did re-open , to be honest i wouldnt get so involved as its so unreliable and goes off without warning. A forum is only as good as its members, and i bet most of them have left for good.

    Here's to the future ----www.ducatiforum.co.uk

  8. Multistrada.net and Ducatiworld.co.uk have been occupying my attention but they don't have what ducatisti did....I missed all the banter
some of the characters had me in stitches.

Would love to be with you on sunday Dave, your last ride out I came on was brilliant but this time other commitments....dang.

  9. That was Ducatisti at its best ... 15-20 Ducatis from the SW for a great day out. Perhaps we'll see similar from this forum in the future. Fingers crossed!

  10. Ducati up north for me, a very friendly bunch but the forum lacks involvement ( topics don't change very often ) I feel at home here already.
    Steve.

  11. I've been on the ISC forum, very good, and Ducatiworld, another good forum. But unfortunately neither picked up a great deal after Ducatisti went bang, it's a shame.

  12. ISC as was always there, Ducatisti was always a bit up its own a*** to be honest, a reflection on Dan I think, who showed his true colors in the end so wasn't missed, Pistonheads BB Forum is quite funny.

  13. The only bike forum involvement i've had since Ducatisti's closure is the Motorbike section of Overclockers UK.
In fact i havn't been on a run with any Ducatisti since the Mike Halewood memorial run last year.
Plenty of runs with the small group of mates i normally ride with though.

  14. I agree there was a side of Ducatisti that was bit up its own a*** - but that was down to some of the moderation IMHO - and although Dan recruited the mods he had little involvement in moderation itself. So far as Dan goes you couldn't hope to meet a nicer bloke - about the least up his own a*** fella I could imagine.

  15. Agreed, I met Dan at the Pembrey track day a few years back, nice bloke. On Ducatisti there was always a thread floating around questioning the mods. Since I've been posting on the ISC forum I've yet to see a single one and it's the better for it!

  16. Agree with David I have to defend Dan too a very nice man infact too nice a long way from up his own arse.

  17. Been getting a lot of work done !!!! ;)

Looks like productivity at Blue Cube Design will be hit big style now (Anyone working from home will know exactly what I mean).

Hats off to you Dave for getting this site up and running, it's looking good.

  18. Me? Nothing to do with me mate. The site was created by Rob
