Is there any practical reason why people tend not to wear a 3/4 length, adventure or touring jacket on a sports bike? I quite fancy one as they look practical and comfy. Also, and this is a very minor reason, i might get an adventure bike in the future. FYI my current getup is full power ranger and i ride an 848.
i have the dainese carve master i use when its either too cold or wet, no problems with it whatsoever and you can still wear leather strides with it if the mood takes you
if the weather called for it I wore it, never felt the need to dress for the image though I might buy something retro for the scrambler
I had the same thoughts at the start of year and purchased Spidi Hard Track Motorcycle Jacket Straps to go under legs are great and hold jacket down, when on 1299. The only thing that I feel, is the level of protection when you have liners removed for warm weather, you feel a bit vulnerable, as against leathers.
I wear a Rukka Armas jacket on my pani (my computer just autocorrected that to pain..) throughout the winter and on crappy days in general. If you make sure its a relatively snug fit it doesn't look that bad. I also own a Worlds Coolest Dad T-shirt so I have the image thing covered..
+ 1 for Dainese Carve Master. Wear mine on my pani with black leather trousers. Looks ok. Fuck it though I'm warm..
Me too. And the trousers to go with it. I'm new to textiles and I only bought them a few weeks ago and I've been wearing them a lot on all my bikes. In the summer good textiles are so much lighter and cooler than leathers. The Carve Master is one of the best looking textile jackets IMO. Its tailored and close-fitting and works well and looks the part as either a sports or a touring/adventure jacket. I expect I'll go back to my leathers on dry days through the autumn as the weather cools, but textiles are good. Now I've got some I can see why they're so popular.
completely agree, nice to have the option too - quite often wear the jacket with leather strides and vice versa, mood (and weather) dependent
They’re just bags more comfortable and less restricting too. I wouldn’t want to come off at speed on a track day in textiles (you cant, obviously) but I do trust them if/when you’re skimming down the road at 40-50mph after a brain fart. In fact I’ve had goretex that’s not even been marked when I’ve ended up on my arse. I only have to brush against a wall or something in leathers and it scuffs. Goretex is so much more durable for everyday use.
