It's a difficult one Andy, for appearance and even possibly saleability, has to be Termi but for longevity and efficiency I would pick the Akrapovic
Ah, but if you have no intention of selling, would you swap a 70mm Termignoni stainless system with carbon slash cuts for a 70mm Akrapovic full titanium system (including Ti slash cuts) if you had the opportunity ? Andy
Ti slash cuts? I think I would if not worried about selling. My original Termi non-slash carbon tail pipes (tubes) are already around half way through their life at only 3,800 miles such is the constant temperature right in the centre where the two lie side by side.
Hi Andy, my answer is no, I would buy an Akrapovic full titanium system but would never swap the original Termi 70mm from my 1098R. I too have no intention of selling the bike so it's good to keep the original parts.
That's a good point, I had missed the 'full Ti' bit of the question, assumed it was rear pipes only. I remember they love to fracture near the hot/business end. That's a firm 'no' now. (-:
Akrapovic work almost exclusively with titanium and have been for a long time. I'm not aware of any of their systems having a problem with cracking. Let's face it, stainless steel isn't exactly the most malleable of materials. I voted for the slash Termis simply because I prefer the look of the end cans on the 1098R. I'm a big Akrapovic fan and recently swapped the Termi's on my Streetfighter for Akra's
