I was finding a number of litre bikes an issue on Wednesday Would pull them in and get alongside them. Then halfway down the straight they'd pull away from me again.
I assume you guys have seen this? Without even trying Scott Reading is going round Silverstone GP on a Panigale in about 2m20s....
Yep, saw this a couple of days ago, I was impressed too. I think it's a 2:23 [emoji6] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I was there that day, and he came out in fast group He was very swift. The biggest thing that stuck with me is how quickly he goes from upright to fully leant over Nice lad too
Kept forgetting to put the bloody camera on! Some footage from session 3, excuse some of the missed apex's, I was knackered by this point having been at work since early on in the morning. Fastest lap I managed by my own data was a 54.7 earlier on. Old man with a stop watch seems to think I went sub 54 at one point. Anyway I always ride with reserve as I don't fancy shunting my pretty girl haha Comments welcomed,
Big bikes have power so don't need corner speed hence you go in slower out faster. Didn't suit my riding style. I like yo carry speed thru the apex hence I've junked the k5 1000 and got s 675
Was at Silverstone yesterday on the GP circuit. Pictures aren't available yet but here's a video of my last session if anyone's interested. The inters group had a pretty much trouble-free day, no red flags and only a few offs. Managed a PB of 2:31, best lap of this (the last) session was a 2:32. Sorry for poor quality, had to use my old original GoPro hero HD as the new 4k camera just didn't want to work
Decent time Matt, I think we were doing about the same lap times. It's such a long and wide circuit that it feels like there's loads of places to make time up but needs time to learn the place.
You certainly looked very comfortable on the new orange machine I'm not sure there were many guys in the fast group going much faster than 2:30 yesterday. I was going around mid 2:30's and still overtaking as many people that came past me Good to see you, and hopefully, we'll get another in before the summer's over
Cheers chaps, I'm really getting on with the RC8, I love the torque and the drive it gives out of the corners, the extra 40-50bhp over my last bike is nice too [emoji6] I know Silverstone isn't many people's favourite track but I really enjoy it there. Oh and watching the Mike Edwards 'how I ride Silverstone' videos was a big help too. Good to meet up again Graeme, will be good when we get to share a track. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
just had a look at my footage - I think I need to find a new mounting point as the picture was vibrating all over the place..............
There were a couple of racers, the guy in the orange suit and that were pretty quick but agree apart from us overtaking each other I didnt really get passed.
I only filmed one session (or rather filmed 2, but only one came out) It certainly wasn't the best session ever, but I'm pretty happy with how the camera uploads all the data. I need to get a decent front mount now, as having changed screens recently, I now don't have space to mount it behind the screen
I mount mine on a little platform cantilevered off of the ignition bolts. Picked it up on ebay.... Footage is smooth, but probably because I'm slower!!...
Looks really good graeme4130. I'm interested to know how you capture the data logging? Have you a special 'box' that bluetooths to your camera?
It's all contained within the camera, which is a Garmin Virb XE. Clever little bit of kit and really easy to use, even for a computer numpty like me
