1200 DVT Extra Led Lights ?

  1. Anyone have an opinion about the 300+ quid extra LED lights that Ducati do ? Other than the price, are they worth the effort ? Watched a YouTube vid and they look epic but £300+ for some small lights ? I'll have some if folk agree, but don't wanna go through hassle if they're crap.

  2. Running lights/fog lights whatever you want to call them are worth it. Raise your profile & blind the enemy I say!!!!!1

  3. Wayne do you intend riding at night ?
Don't agree with GZB about blinding the enemy though, especially if their heading towards me :Jawdrop:

  4. Yes mate, I ride to work winter and summer, starting and finishing at 5.30am on day and night shifts. Very rarely take my car due to traffic and only one road that goes to work.

  5. I bought the Ducati ones and they are alright, not quite as bright as I imagined they would be. But anything that helps you stand out a bit more can only be a good thing :sunglasses:

Loving your R8 by the way, my Mrs has just chopped hers for a 2014 Spyder. Gorgeous bit of kit.

  6. I'm impressed with the Ducati ones, expensive, but the fit nicely, look smart, work without additional switchgear (on the DVT) and really do have an effect in traffic. I also ride most days into London and I've seen the difference (also good for moving cars out of your way on the motorway).

There are cheaper options but they are always a compromise.

  7. If you get into the habit of flashing cars to get them to move over, sooner or later you will do this to an unmarked police car. Soon after you can explain to the police officer why you were doing it. And finally you can explain it to a magistrate. So do you have your explanation ready for that day?

  8. thanks mate, consider them ordered then. :)

  9. I fitted them to my DVT and they are smart and the lads I was touring with in Europe said they made a huge difference in visibility. Word of warning though, you'll need the built in switch on the handlebars "enabling" by your dealer.

  10. Not at all. If someone is lane hogging and you give them a flash from a distance to let them know you are there, that's perfectly reasonable and legal.

  11. I didn't actually say anything about flashing them...
I've noticed a distinct change as you come up behind cars with the DVT S LED Headlights and Aux lights on, cars will happily move over into the middle lane, no flashing involved.
Apart from noticing you much earlier I also think they are so bright they just don't like you sitting behind them

  12. I don't have the additional led lights on my pre dvt to warn cars that I am there, I have a leo vince decat and termi stubby which works a treat :-D

  13. Sorry, what did you say ?

  14. I respectfully refer your honour to The Highway Code: Rule 110

  15. I've always thought you could get arrested for flashing :)

  16. Not according to law 110, flash to let others know you are there it says, so its allowed. Fill ya boots and open that Mac..... Flash away :)
