  1. Hi all,

Need a new pair of boots, whilst I'm at it I'm considering some gloves too..

Any recommendations, been looking at alpinestars super tech R's and Knox handroid gloves...

Any thoughts or suggestions!?? A guy today said to me dainese are considered the best? I thought they were fairly evenly matched...

Price isn't important however I refuse to pay Daytona money

  2. I'm Interested in boots as well. My altbergs have finally given up after 13 years which isnt too bad. If I could find the receipt id send them back ( only yolking) they've been comfy and quality.

  3. ive got the alpinestar smx plus and really cant fault them(best boots ive ever had), always worn sidi and wont go back, can only imagine the super tech R been a step up,
as for gloves ive the ducati dainese titanium full metal and although been great gloves there not quite as nice to wear as my old wolf gloves, there getting a tad comfier the more I wear them, quality is awesome

these are the exact boots I have but don't recall paying that amount for them

  4. Well, if you want quality, comfort and safety, then it has to be Daytona or Altberg's.

  5. Sorry, it's just dawned on me, do you mean Daytona's Evo boot, if that's the case I agree with you. All that money and their not even waterproof :(

  6. have had a few pair of alpine star gloves and am using their sp1's currently. Bit disappointed in that the seam in the thumb digs in really badly... It does take my mind off my fingers going numb re ducati vibes...but not in a good way

  7. I have the same boots and I think I paid around £230 about 5 years ago.

Gloves wise I like Knox. I had the Handroids for about 6 years before the rains in July completely trashed them and now I have the Knox Biomech that I bought from someone who'd bought them and never wore them as they didn't fit him properly. His loss cos they fit me "like a glove" :)

  10. I've been looking at the dainese boots as well.... Do you have a preference ?

Just been looking at the dainese full metal gloves, they look pretty trick as well

  11. i probably wear the supertechs more but that is because they are vented.i have trouble fastening other boots because of the shin armour in my dainese suit but i dont think i would want any others any way. used to wear smx plus with other leathers and they are good as well but cant fasten them with the dainese

  13. Just received a pair of Knox Handroids in red. Size XXL is luckily just big enough. Looking forward to trying them out on the road. These are much the most expensive gloves I have ever bought.

  14. I've got a pair of Handroids, they've been fine although getting a bit shabby now with the soft part of the fingers coming away where they contact the levers.

I did impulse buy some 'Racer R-Safe' gloves last year as they were on a special, one-day only on German Amazon for a very silly price. They also appear to be good albeit without the Handroids techy bits (Terminator tendons) but I've not worn them yet.

  15. As for boots, I've tried a few but recently have taken a liking for Sidi as I like the fit and the protection of the race boots.

Didn't get on too well with A-stars as they were like wellies (too wide) and one of the zips fell apart, had some Daytona many years back which were OK but they got shabby rather quickly and the sole wore away but they met their demise in a crash where the right one got covered in battery acid and basically disintegrated as I put them away without washing the acid off for a month or so due to repair/recovery time.

  16. Anyone got any TCX s speed waterproof boos they care to comment on?

  17. Went with Alpinestars in the end

  18. Good choice, my Gp pros have just worn out after 4 years and 3 crashes, probably repairable too, only a hole in the thumb! They'll be my track spares now :innocent:
