  2. Love the looks, I was very close to buying one, keen to see what happens to the business in the short term so holding off any impulse purchase

  3. Those wheels....dam good looking! Had a cagiva until 2 years ago,in portugal parts were a nightmare, 1 month to have a clutch cable because had to come from italy, and neither italy had one... So if in uk post sales support are ok, go ahead.that tre pistone 800 is a blast

  5. Loved the cherry and white one! nearly bought one instead of my 1199.
The things that put me off were the quality of the transfers on the bike and luggage space on the rear end was very limited... Apart from that beautiful....

  6. I seem to be the only one who dose not like the wheels.

  7. No, not the only one, just the first to declare. Not my cup of tea either but that's what makes he world go round, something for everyone. Andy

  8. Thread moved

  9. These caught my attention also... The search for my next bike always brings me back to a Streetfighter 1100 s
Just not sure of service on the MV, I'm a stones throw away from Ducati Nott'm and Cornerspeed is not far away
Only things I don't like on the MV are the clocks and the switchgear, look a bit cheap

  10. Done 6.5k on mine and love her to bits - no issues and plenty of luggage room for 1200 miles round France and Spain

Superb fun but not if you want a relaxed ride they don't like slow ;)

  11. Bucket list bike, but hope to always have a Ducati, so unfortunately will never own one.

  12. I cant comment on the Brutale but I did briefly have a Turismo Veloce earlier this year and they share the same engine. it handled fantastically, absorbed the lumps and bumps on our roads way better than any Duke I have ever ridden, the engine whooshed up the rev range quickly and smoothly but after just a few weeks and several hundred miles I was looking for excuses not to ride it as it didnt scratch my itch in the visceral way a Ducati does.
That is not to criticise it in any way, it is probably one of the 2 or 3 most capable bikes I`ve ever ridden and the quality of everything seemed excellent too. I just didnt like it.

  13. I like MV's, they made some really interesting bikes. I considered one but wouldn't touch 'em until their future is somewhat more certain.

  14. I have a Turismo Veloce Lusso, having considered and test ridden both Mutistrada S and the Enduro (both very capable and nice bikes). The MV just had that little bit more in terms of finesse and sharpness that I was looking for after 10+ years on VFRs. 5 minutes into the test ride I knew owning one was going to happen. Having a local dealer helped as well.

The triple engine and the way it produces it's power, albeit relatively limited compared to the Multistrada, along with the light weight and the way it is so flickable is adictive.

The future is still somewhat unclear for MV and if that's going to worry you then holding off for the next few months might be wise.

Build quality is, in the main, superb. Although it is let down in a few areas by penny pinching/poor QC on presumably components sourced from China. This seems absurd on a bike that is supposed to be a premium brand at a premium price. Source parts from China, sure, but make sure that the quality is there as it badly lets the package down. A case in point is the rear indicators that a/ leak and b/ destroy themselves due to being on an unsprung part. I've had all four indicators changed over the 6 months and 4000 miles I've owned mine. The Dragster has the option of fitting a 3rd party tail tidy that will resolve this as it shares the same rear indicator set-up as the TV. With the TV it's a case of fitting 3rd party indicators to the rear crap catcher in place of the originals, I have some on the shelf waiting for the time to do this.

None of the issues I've had so far (indicators and quick shifter) has left me stranded but they are annoying.

The white rear wheel on the Dragster can be a pain to keep clean and some users have had tobacco type discolouration from the exhaust on the right hand side that's nigh on impossible to remove.

One of the Dragster owners on mvagusta.net is currently on tour in Spain, his has clocked up 26,000 km without major issues. He has used Kriega luggage to good effect.

  15. Oooh gonna scratch that itch I think ..... Maybe a deal to be done in coming wetter months....

  16. One design flaw that I think is common across the 800 range is the location of rear brake master cylinder and reservoir means that this gets a lot of heat from the exhaust, especially if you do a lot of town riding. As a result the back brake seems to go to nothing pretty quickly, about 1500 miles in my case. The pedal goes all the way to the stop. I've bled mine and it's back to barely satisfactory (i.e. standard). Even when bled the throw isn't right and the lever position isn't adjustable. Will see how long the bleed I did lasts. Just as well the front brakes are phenomenal.
