I think someone must have sprinkled fairy dust on my Multistrada. Had to avoid a patch of gravel inconveniently right where I wanted to go and used the back brake to avoid a front end slide which would have inevitably ended up in a low side and bugger me the rear ABS kicked in . Who'd of thought it ? Gonna rush out and buy a lottery ticket just in case I didn't use up all the luck . Andy
After fixing the 996 clutch after being off the road for a month and taking a successful test ride last night I've now got the 999 in bits. Am I the only one with <1 bike that struggles to have them all rideable at once. There was nothing wrong with it either.....
Another brilliant day in the Black Forest. CYcled up to Kandel this morning, the highest point, from where we are staying it is a 4,600 ft climb...in one shunt. Then this afternoon out on the Scrambler finding more new roads down to Schluchsee, last bit on the famous 500. I sold my 749 and Monster and bought the Scrambler on the new reg. I have put several hundred miles on the Scrambler in the last 6 days and it has been brilliant. I was concerned I would really miss the 749, yes it is different, very different to ride, the Scrambler will never attract attention like the 749 but I really gelled with the Scrambler, goodness I have mere chicken strips now instead of the Turkey strips I had on the 749. If I had to criticise the Scrambler it is the size of the tank, tiny! I hadn't appreciated just how tiny, And the button to cancel the indicator, if you don't press it dead centre it doesn't cancel, never had this on other bikes. Anyway, try the Scrambler if you haven't already, it is a hoot and get your backsides over to the Blackforest, there is a road to suit every preference, some roads suit every preference in one stretch.
Sorted and paid a professional company who are going to pack (some) of my recently departed mates Ashes into a huge Rocket that we are going to celebrate him and his life with.Going to have a get together with his family and close mates - pop a few bottles of pink poo and fire him over Ascot racecourse! We spent a lot of great times there giving over our hard earned wedge to sick animals? He would appreciate the irony!

Been told I should expect £100 fine and three points. Annoying because the road is usually a 70, but I was in my little transit connect which is classed as commercial, making it a 60. First offence ..
Today I enjoyed an early ride in the fog to Newport passport office and shortly back again this evening to take full advantage of their premium charged same day turnaround service. £128 , thanks very much sir. At least the cup of tea -£1- in the Asda is a ( relative) bargain..... Don't ask.
I'm a cat person and although I'm not a dog fan I love all animals so I've been feeding, walking and entertaining a good mates Malamute for last few days. She is about 2 and half years old and a lovely animal with a fantastic temperament and great personality.I thought they were winding me up when they told me she eats whole fish, minc, chicken and offal straight from the deep freeze! "Do not give her tinned/processed dog food under ANY circumstances!" Apparently it will go straight through her? She has to be walked 3/4 miles a day - so they allow approved dog walkers to collect her and walk her when they are busy. Its a great system - the people don't charge but love dogs and are not in a position to house or have their own dog
Attend court but don't take a brief as it will only lump up the fine.Explain about not knowing the difference in limits on a van and the fact you have full clean licence - will be 3 points,£90 + score costs if you get a magistrate who got a jump the night before!
Fitted new battery box and mobile/sat nav charger to 999. Little clean up round the engine. Nothing big, but made her a little better.
