Clocks On 1000 Ss

Happy to keep this off-topic lol lol lol etc.

I am sort of surprised that my bike, possibly a 2003 model with 2002 registration, had the essential goodies they added to keep interest up. But it did not get the plastic headlight or the digital white faced clocks.

To summarize, it got:

5 spoke Marchesinis (£500 - pm me)
Ohlins shock (£300 - pm me)
Chunky swingarm (£500 - pm me)

But the DS got all those and the plastic light and white digital clocks....so for me there is a question mark. Did the 900 really get the plastic light and white digital clock from 2003 or was it just the DS?

 

@richgilb My 2003 800 SSie has all those as well except the rear Ohlins, however due to the 800 being a slow seller they made/called the 800 Sie the SSie from 2004 M.Y. on and removed the higher spec of the 2003 800SSie from the line up. The 2003 800SSie also has fully adjustable front forks, maybe Showas or Marzocchi, different literature says either. (I have however since purchased an Ohlins rear shock, yet to be fitted.)

Your 900 SSie must be a 2002 M.Y. (built in 2002) as this was the last year they made the 900 SS, from 2003 the SS cc's were 620, 800, & 1000. I believe that the 900 came with Ohlins, thicker Alloy swingarm, 5 spoke wheels but not the digital white dial dash with built in immobiliser or lighter Polycarbonate headlight.

Looking at the pictures the 1000SS clocks look as if they may be either monster or Paul smart era clocks.

 

With the Op's attitude, I'm surprised anyone bothered to answer him..................

Hey guys, for a relative newbie the OP may not be totally aux fait with our witty banter, or realise that the question was one that was taxing even the most knowledgeable amongst us. Still post 2 could have been written in frustration, or under the influence of the local vino, so give the guy a break, we were all newbies at one time or another

I may keep the frame and engine for another go at getting the Ducati I really want. I'll wrap it up and leave it until I get the energy and cash to do it. I'd send the suspension to Maxton with a brief to make it softer for roadwork this time. And get an F1 body kit no headlight, daytime MOT, alloy tank handmade. It feels like a 250 without the tank and plastic on it!
