Careful there! Screens may be interchangeable but the nose cone is different between models. Compare the mirror mounts between 1199 and 1299. Check first...
Yeah, I've tried to clarify my statement. The screens are not interchangeable between old and new as they use smaller bolts in different places on the new ones and the mirror supports are different.
Is it fair to say all other parts (within reason) are interchangeable between the 959/1299? Things such as fairings, mudguard, tail tidy, rear sets, levers, bolts etc etc It's just easier if I can broaden the search for parts.......if I buy one
I have been told that even the single sided swingarm will swap over if you are so inclined! Rearsets, levers, tail- tidies and most of those bits and pieces are interchangeable.
I've ridden over a 120 miles today on mine. I rode on A and B roads down to Donington and did the last 10 miles on the M1 getting to the Hotel we are staying in. I have to say that the bike is a peach, though I've yet to really use it in anger. That'll start after its first service next Saturday Though its not very different from the 899 there are some noticeable differences that are nice like the wide fairing and the slipper clutch. Additionally I love the looks (Anniversario paint job and AR can)and it attracts attention wherever and whenever I stop. Which is nice
It was cloudy most of the day, and was freezing at 7.30 when we went for a ride to get breakfast. But it warmed up during the day. Some good racing too, with our friend Sammy Coventry finishing 10th in qualifying We then rode to ashby de la zouche, where the fair was in the high street, for fish and chips. Talk about going from the sublime to the ridiculous
Mates with Cov then? His old man owns the garage he works at based out of havant' and my mate was pit bitch for a few years and he rode the Knight bike too. Quick lad, often dips in around top 10. His dada is a bot mad tho...mate of mine the dentist used to ride with him in their earlier years...
