  1. The time has come for me to change my chain and sprockets....

Could it be a simple job and value for money

Ha ha ha, oh no I hear you cry...It's Italian

Yes I have the OEM sprocket carrier so I will be needing chain/sprockets and CNC carrier

Has anyone got a place for a good deal/service ? I was looking at Ducati Mondo

    Cheers in advance...

  2. HID heavy duty chain, all the way. Don't know what size you'd need but they are the bees-knees.

  3. 525 I think

I'm guessing steel rear sprocket ?

I've always gone steel on my 600s for longevity

  4. hi Jody

just wondering how many miles you have on you chain/sprockets?

I have nearly 15K miles on my original and the chain is looking pretty sorry...i'm assuming its recommended to change sprockets with chains?

    (i'm on the HM821)

  5. I'm on about 14k

The rear sprocket doesn't look too bad but I have a bit more stretch in one part of the chain than I'd like...

When tensioning the chain at the tightest point I turn the wheel and the slackest part drops about another 20mm :(

And yeah both together are recommended..a new chain on old sprockets or vice versa will just fuck each other up quicker

  6. Yep- riding a pushbike told me that....if you replace one part the rest will wear it down quicker...better to do the whole lot at once....you going cheapskate or no?

  7. You think thats crazy....how about a rear shock on a 'race bred bike' that needs exhaust and rear wheel off to change it...or same with a fairing with so many small fasteners it takes half hr to get them off..and better still a touring bike with a single side swinger than needs the exhaust removed to get the wheel out...

  11. All nice info but does any one have any good places for chain and sprockets ? :D

  12. Well, my original question stands...cheapskating it or no....? that's depends on where you want to go...not an argumentative question - just wondered...

  13. B&C express

  14. Thought you meant the post about not changing both.....

I don't mind paying for a decent set.....just can't find many other than buying in bits

  15. Ah right - well, the reason I ask is that when I go for a set for mine I was thinking of going for supersprox more expensive (a lot more) but the whole look is pretty trick...it was just something I was toying with....I would say for for a full set...id go look on ebay first to get an idea of price and then go to the usual suspects (B&C Express etc etc)

  16. Depends how long you want to keep the bike, as if its more than one c&s change it may be worthwhile finding a (used if you can) renthal or talon hub. Opens up £25 sprocket changes
