As I cocked up and missed virtually all of the summer season I'd like to use the hyper as much as I can and have been thinking about some heated grips, just wondering if anyone has them fitted and what do they think of them, also wondered were the controls end up being mounted, can anyone help me?
The S1000RR has heated grips as standard, honestly the most amazing invention in the universe when it's raining and cold!
Oxford heated grips on my Hyper. Get so hot the burn your hands at the top settings....sounds weird but last year coming back from the Ace on the m4 it was so cold i had them at 100% which kept the cold out. In fact ive got Oxford heated grips on the RSV and the Zed.....ive got some extensive nerve damage in my right hand so the cold affects it a bit moreso... @royalwithcream - do the s1000rr grips get hot enough? when i test rode that s1000r the heated grips were a total waste of time....in comparison to the oxford ones the s1000r ones on hot setting were equivalent to about setting 2 on the Oxfords...
Odd, they are very hot. If you put them on the highest of the three settings when it's not all that cold then they are uncomfortably hot. I can wear summer race gloves nearly all year round with them, just putting warm gloves on for february night rides when it's icy, not that I make a habit of doing them but I did get the BMW so I was comfortable all year.
The ones on my old BMW adventure were hot or unbearably hot. I'm hoping the Ducati ones will be as good
I've had hotter farts than the s1000r ones... With them set to high my hands were cold... In April. Sent from my SM-N9005 using Tapatalk
Thats weird, I've never heard someone say that about the BMW ones. Are you sure you didn't have them on the low setting?
Mine are too hot on the hottest setting (for me). The medium setting are toasty enough in the depths of winter and the low setting is good for autumn and spring.
Nope - there were 2 settings...i had them on high....hopeless - one of a list of things i didnt like about the bike....
Don't look too much the Ducati heated grips work well have 3 levels and don't have that nasty cable hanging every time you twist the throttle like the other brands! The Ducati ones are well integrated only thing is that they operate from start switch which is not easy to reach with the thumb while riding and using the throttle. Again they work well plus there is the cabling on every hyper so mount and plug.
I have them on mine and I must say there very good not sure how much they cost as they were already fitted
